The jobs are much better there: according to the Johannesburg Star, Domino’s Pizza are offering a $31 thousand job – for just ONE hour of work.
My own job hunt can be classed as a waste of my time/disaster/providing employers with the giggle of the day. Lucky I have my writing to fall back on. Oh. Um….
Spud seems to have similar working hours to the Japanese – he went back to school on Monday after a two week half-term break (when all the other schools got only one week), and he’s off tomorrow because of an inset day, giving him a three-day weekend. Good job he has three hours of homework a night or he’ll never pass his GCSEs.

Don’t forget to check out my new blog http://sapoems.wordpress.com/. Go on; do it now. You know I’m going to keep nagging until you do.

Wow…with an hourly rate like that you could retire after a week or two to an island someplace.
Nice dream!
That’s only ONE job they’re doing as some kind of advertisement/promotion, however. Most part-time jobs in Japan pay only $12.00 an hour. Driving around Tokyo for $12.00 an hour is NOT enough, if you ask me. Plus everything is so expensive there.
Nope, I think I’ll just stay where I am even though it’s expensive here, too.
It’s the price you pay for living on an island; we have the same problem here in the UK.
Are you really moving to Japan?
Maybe one day, but not now. I was planning to train to teach English as a foreign language once I graduated, but then my youngest son won a full bursary to a private school and we won’t disrupt his education. He has another four years and I’ll be over fifty by then. As a wise man once said, life is what happens while you’re making plans. We wanted to go to Japan and China for a few years. Not sure if it will ever happen now, but I’d like to think it might.
