I am a little fat. I like food; what can I say? I have dull hair: mousey. I don’t wear much make-up and have no need of a dressing table. If I look like a bag lady, I chose my own clothes. If I look nice, the Hub picked them for me. Despite all this, I am a little vain. This photograph is from 2003. I had to go back that far to find one of me that I liked. But I don’t really care: my husband still thinks I’m beautiful and if he doesn’t, he loves me enough to lie about it. I’m lucky. I have two boys. They never lie to me. Still, you can't have everything.
I would love to hear from you!

Today is National Poetry Day. I was going to bring you some fun and interesting facts about poetry, but you know what? There aren’t any. Not on the internet, anyway. Poetry is dull. By the way, remember to check out my poetry blog, I’m Not A Verse. * * * * * I did find […]
Viewfromtheside offered fascinating as the weekend theme. I thought you might like some fascinating facts. Can you guess which, if any, are true? You can’t fold paper more than seven times. You can, actually, if you are young and determined and rope in your family and a shopping mall. From Wikipedia: In January 2002, while a […]
With apologies to Paul, who might not find this blog to be quite what he was expecting. Take a look at this You Tube video. This – boy? young man? lad? What do I call him? He’s of a similar age to Tory Boy but obviously we are not on similar terms. I’ll call him ‘person’ […]
I have long been in search of the perfect handbag. It must be black; have a short and long handle, so that I can carry it down, under my arm, over my shoulder or over my chest; it must not be so big that I carry a load of junk around with me that I […]

Bravo, Tilly. Isn’t that Spud growing up fast! I hope it doesn’t give him the blues…
He is growing up; too fast. Went all the way to Lancaster and back for a week without his doting mama.
Nice work Tilly! Did he like the end result?
He loved it
Lots of hard work there but it looks like an excellent result.
Thanks. You can see it’s not so excellent if you look closely
A lad after my own heart…love vivid colours…hence my bright yellow car!
It’s blue he loves
I can’t imagine you with any other colour car
Woohoo you have been busy. Love the colour
Thanks!
Glad he liked it, the picture of him seeing it for the first time is great.
I’m impressed! Glad he loves his new digs!
He does
I so admire those that can redo their homes their selves. I have no talent for painting, decorating, recovering etc. However, I do have talent for finding amazing things that need no help at garage sales
That’s an excellent talent! My husband has it too: Spud’s new curtain rail was bought for 20pence last year. It’s really designed for a kitchen, for hanging pans and things.
Beautiful! I just knew that Spud would love those red and orange stripes with the clown theme border! – very cool!
In reality, I figure he must love blue, and it does look great! Plus if he wore a blue shirt and jeans, he would blend right in – a great way to escape from your parents!
He does love blue
Cool!
It looks great!! A job well done.
Thank you
I love the color! So pretty or should I say “masculine” for the young man!!
You should! He wouldn’t ride his (girl) friend’s bike when he was small, because it was pink
Blue is one of my favorite colors. I think it looks awesome
Wall papering and painting a room is hard work… You did a wonderful job!
Thanks
AMAZING! now I’m even more impressed
Couldn’t you get paid to do this for other people?
