What to expect from The Laughing Housewife in December:
- A decorated blog
- Christmas jokes
- Christmas cartoons
- Christmas stories
- Christmas pictures
- Christmas anecdotes
- A lot of blogs about Christmas
- A lot of re-blogs about Christmas
- A lot of giddiness on my part
- A lot of lists (some naughty, some nice)
- A list of lots of things to do, mostly involving wine and hysteria, though not necessarily in that order
- Panic – it’s six days to Christmas month and I still have to find 25 Christmas jokes, Christmas cartoons, Christmas stories, Christmas pictures and Christmas anecdotes
- Coloured fonts
If this has come as a surprise to you, then it’s clear you haven’t read my About page:
Christmas and Maltesers must be done to excess; everything else is showing off.
I’ve just made a connection! Christmas is red; Maltesers are red – I’m not a greedy pig when I eat seven boxes of Maltesers: I’m re-living Christmas.
Now pass me a bucket; I feel a bit green.

you are one great chocolate covered Malteser..I love you, and you are wrapped for Christmas…..Nutty lady!
Thanks for the biggest smile of my week!
I can’t wait
I’ll do my best to make it funny
If you think I’m going to congratulate you on this you have another think coming. I’m not about to jeopardise Malteser privileges.
Now you’re talking!
I imagine your house is decorated to the hilt as well. Must send pictures…
Not really, apart from some home made decs the kids have made over the years. It’s all on the tree; or will be, come December 11th. I do Christmas to excess, but only within strict dates.
I’m surprised your red and green fonts are so easy to read. Today is Thanksgiving Day in USA. I’m stressing out over my party, especially the turkey. ugh!
I’m sure it all went great!
I think the theme makes the fonts easy to read.
I feel tired already…
Oh, nonononono! This simply isn’t PC. Haven’t you heard that Christmas must be downplayed for the sake of all the sorry souls who don’t DO it?
(Personally, I don’t care how commercialised or ‘offensive to others’ it may be; it’s part of my tradition, and it’s FUN! If any other groups don’t like it they can … *use imagination here*
That one touch a nerve, did it?
Looking forward to the month like never before. And it’s good to see Maltesers are back in their usual prominent place in your blog.
They are never far away
I am looking forward to it – sounds great.
Okay, now I’m wondering just how much pressure I’ve put myself under.
Quite a lot actually because you basically promised a celebration of colour, fun and naughtiness. Luckily you have those silly WordPress prompts to use for amusement.
Eek!
Looking forward to the Winterval. Sort of.
Milly went back today, armed with all her shopping, after our trip yesterday, during which I bought nothing. Normally I have Christmas presents sorted by end of November.
John Lewis was all tinsel and glitter inside and out but I felt NO inspiration….
can you inspire me, please?
Okay, here’s what you do: break out the Christmas movies; drink some wine; put on the Christmas music channel; drink some wine; write your Chrishmash cardsh; drink wum shine. It never failsh.
Poor Pseu. You do know that Santa checks his list twice? It’s not too late…
I have tomorrow OFF!! woo hooo!!!
I am looking forward to all your Christmassy blogginess.
I love Christmas – but only in December. There are some people who already have their trees and decorations up – much, much too early I think.
I agree. Christmas is strictly 11 December to 2 January in this house. But not in this blog
On 1st December I get out my Christmas mugs, glasses, drinks mats and tea-towels and put up the advent calendar (a tapestry one which has little gifts hung on it for each day). Our tree and main decorations won’t go up until 10 days before Christmas at the earliest and will come down before the new school term starts – but always by 12th night if school starts later than that.
We are kindred spirits
why 11th?
Exactly two weeks before Christmas. I like to celebrate it, but not forever.
Ahah!
Here its no cards up until after 15th.
Scrooge!
birthday cards have priority for a week…..
Aaahhhh! Then I take it back…egoorcS
No surprises … and I’m still laughing.
Excellent!
Do Christmas to excess. Is there any other way?
Not as far as (you and) I am concerned
