I haven’t yet told you about my foot rub.
During my week off I had a morning at Stockport Town Hall, at a free event. I was offered advice, pens and tote bags. Also, key rings, energy saver plugs, and cupcakes. There was more, but I’m not greedy.
I met the Mayor; which is to say, I asked her if I could take her photograph and she shoved aside the minder trying to shove me aside, and posed. The minder minds the Mayoral Chain, not the Mayor: a mayor can be (and is) replaced (each year); the chain is valuable enough to require a permanent minder. I got my photo so I didn’t mind.
I discovered a room full of massage tables and pretty smells. I have previously experienced a head massage, full body massage and a facial, so I opted for a foot rub.
‘Rub’ is too weak a word to describe thirty minutes of bliss: if honey is the nectar of the gods, foot rubs are the bees knees. Feet are the true windows to the soul.

The rubmeister was Wendy, who has a permanent stall at Stockport’s indoor market; she does other things to your body besides make your feet smile. If you are ever in the area, tell her The Relaxed Housewife sent you. She doesn’t use the internet or read this blog so she’ll think you’re nuts, but once she’s finished with your feet, you won’t care.
Sounds heavenly.
Having just sat down after two and a half hours on my feet making blackcurrant jelly that was reluctant to set, then clearing up the disaster area which was my kitchen, I REALLY WANT A FOOT (and back) MASSAGE.
I would love one of those!

If she tried it on me, involuntary reflex would probably result in a kick which would send her into orbit. My tootsies are ticklish!

Foot rubs are better than sex.(Don’t tell hubby.) 
I don’t know….my feet are pretty ticklish. I am not so sure it would relax me.

I have a pedicure every 4-6 weeks and have a nice foot and calf massage before she polishes my nails. Wonderful!
Been there, done that, will do it again and again ! A foot massage is the bee’s knees for sure. Such heaven if the right person does it. (unfortunately all who think they are massage goddesses don’t have the knack, but they are far and few between…so don’t give up if you meet one of these). A good foot massage is mood elevating and wonderful !
So many people should get over the idea that they don’t want their feet touched or are ticklish …

Oh, that foot massage sounds divine. The mayor’s chain looks soooooo heavy, it’s a wonder it didn’t make her bend forwards… LOL

My next door neighbour in Cape Town gave me a foot massage….it was unbelievably painful.
I think this means I have the dreaded lurgy.

You make that foot rub sound great…..did you know the human foot has 26 bones, 33 joints, 107 ligaments, 19 muscles and tendons? (love that wikipedia) The two feet make up 25% of the bones in your body. Not only are they the window to the soul, they pretty much keep the soul upright.

I think that next time you’re feeling a little bit under the weather you may ask for a foot rub from the Hub. I am very glad that you got to experience a professional foot rub you definitely deserve to be pampered.

I really need to get me one of those foot massages, I LOVE to have my feet massaged. I can’t stand to have my back touched because my twisted vertebrae and my herniated disks can be painful to the touch, but a head massage and a foot massage sound like heaven right now…
