All of our visitors, young and old, have gone; lunch was successfully provided; the house is ours once more.

I am a little fat. I like food; what can I say? I have dull hair: mousey. I don’t wear much make-up and have no need of a dressing table. If I look like a bag lady, I chose my own clothes. If I look nice, the Hub picked them for me. Despite all this, I am a little vain. This photograph is from 2003. I had to go back that far to find one of me that I liked. But I don’t really care: my husband still thinks I’m beautiful and if he doesn’t, he loves me enough to lie about it. I’m lucky. I have two boys. They never lie to me. Still, you can't have everything.

My Mum has been in Holland with us for 6 days and left today… Sad now. I really enjoy having her to stay. I have a week of being alone with my fiancé before going back to work… Now that’s good……
Did she do all the cooking?
My Mum did NO cooking while she was here. She was treated to some home cooked from by my lovely Bas and we took her out for dinner too. All in all a good week for everyone.

I go with take-out. Or buy those pre-baked pizza crusts and hand them the toppings to do-by-self. Tell them you are tired and let them destroy the kitchen. They’ll love it.
I do love visitors…but do love my solitude also.
