Thinking of my American readers today. Stay safe.
Thankfully, you did.
I can’t believe I have to say it again.
Stay safe, dear readers.

I am a little fat. I like food; what can I say? I have dull hair: mousey. I don’t wear much make-up and have no need of a dressing table. If I look like a bag lady, I chose my own clothes. If I look nice, the Hub picked them for me. Despite all this, I am a little vain. This photograph is from 2003. I had to go back that far to find one of me that I liked. But I don’t really care: my husband still thinks I’m beautiful and if he doesn’t, he loves me enough to lie about it. I’m lucky. I have two boys. They never lie to me. Still, you can't have everything.
I would love to hear from you!

Today is National Poetry Day. I was going to bring you some fun and interesting facts about poetry, but you know what? There aren’t any. Not on the internet, anyway. Poetry is dull. By the way, remember to check out my poetry blog, I’m Not A Verse. * * * * * I did find […]
Viewfromtheside offered fascinating as the weekend theme. I thought you might like some fascinating facts. Can you guess which, if any, are true? You can’t fold paper more than seven times. You can, actually, if you are young and determined and rope in your family and a shopping mall. From Wikipedia: In January 2002, while a […]
With apologies to Paul, who might not find this blog to be quite what he was expecting. Take a look at this You Tube video. This – boy? young man? lad? What do I call him? He’s of a similar age to Tory Boy but obviously we are not on similar terms. I’ll call him ‘person’ […]
I have long been in search of the perfect handbag. It must be black; have a short and long handle, so that I can carry it down, under my arm, over my shoulder or over my chest; it must not be so big that I carry a load of junk around with me that I […]

You are a very special person, I don’t care what anyone says…what YOU… say.
Thankfully, Bill is on the west coast, currently, having just gone through the south.
I grew up on the Gulf and remember the storms. Prayers are good.
Prayers in abundance. I have everything crossed as well!
Should I assume you are speaking of the Cat 1 hurricane which should bring much needed rain to the Midwest? Or, is it our political election coming up? Having lived through both, I can tell you don’t worry. Both are nothing but hot air. Dianne
You crack me up, Dianne
Seconded, Tilly.
Given the changes attributed to global warming you may need to place that post on auto-posting…many of the initial prediction seem to be coming true.
Very thoughtful of you, Linda ….. personal I don’t understand how they do it year after year … and a couple of times too – all those storms and hurricanes – wild fires … amazingly strong people around the globe. Thanks for this.
I find it incredible that people will live in nature’s way; and yet they do, and survive
Yes, amazing … and it hits them every year and sometime a couple of times.
Thirded.
Sending good wishes for safety too… Take care everyone, we are watching the News and thinking of you where ever you are in the path of these great storm systems.
You are wonderful Tilly, I too am thinking of the folks on the Gulf Coast. I hope that Isaac shows some mercy. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed.
Thank you, Tilly Bud. We need all the good wishes we can get!
I agree with you there Tilly,,,stay safe our friends in America and anywhere else that is having a rough time
Stay safe? What for? We are safe already unless you know something we don’t?
