Roach clip stats

Roach clip stats (Photo credit: Wikipedia) Might as well use this pic because it feels like I have to drag every blog hit out of you; why should I suffer alone?

I read this on my stats page: as of Wednesday 7/11/12 09:15 GMT:

Akismet has protected your site from 15,147 spam comments already.

It’s the ‘already’ which frightens me.  You wouldn’t think there was that much written garbage in the world, would you, never mind on one little blog?

Although, what am I saying?  I’m a blogger.

Forget the US Presidential Election result, here’s what caught my eye on Sky News today:

A woman in Ohio has been ordered to wear an ‘idiot’ sign after driving on a footpath to avoid a school bus picking up children.

Shena Hardin, 32, will have to stand at a junction as a warning to others, after she was repeatedly caught on camera driving dangerously.

A judge at Cleveland Municipal Court told Hardin she would have to wear a sign saying: “Only an idiot drives on the sidewalk to avoid a school bus.”

Hardin will have to complete the humiliating punishment between 7.45am and 8.45am on two days next week.

I wonder who she voted for?

Is that a first? The punishment fitting the crime, I mean.

Spam stats: misleading – a huge proportion of spam is repeated from earlier spam. Almost as misleading as blog stats: 74K sounds like a lot of visits, on mine, but 99.9 % is from the same handful of faithful followers.

Great idea. Sadly, though, there isn’t enough poster paint to make the signs we’d need to mete out justice everywhere.

I think there is a lot of drivers, pedestrians and bikers that should wear signs like that .. my hat of for judge!!!

Ha. Told you it would take several weeks to announce the presidential decision.

In Shanghai, the death rate for pedestrians killed by autos is 1500 per month. No typo, there.

They shrug and consider it part of their population control. This was their actual explanation to my son when he had to be there for a visit for his company.

His company decided not to join the rush to China. That was close.

i am a law breaker. Are not we all. I do abide by most of the ten commandments. I also believe when chosing to break the laugh, one accepts the punishment. Hope Gods are forgiving or the devil not as mean as depicted. Thank you for providing laughs for my emotional health and my blog. Stay strong.

No doubt in my mind at all as to the answer to your query, Tilly; NONE!

That judge deserves a medal. That woman deserves to have her license revoked in addition to wearing the sign. Common sense is truly a gift not to be taken for granted.

    Hope it’s a large sign.

Two wonderful bits from my neck of the woods. Those MJ smokers still must contend with the Feds. I see a States Rights controversy brewing here. Dianne

I think this kind of punishment has more effect than incarceration or fines.

THANK YOU for not posting about the election!

I love that. As long as I don’t do anything stupid enough to incur it :-D

I heard about this on the radio yesterday & thought what a fit punishment this was. The woman was veering off the road to drive on the sidewalk where the children were exiting the bus because she was too impatient to wait for the school bus to unload. I don’t think any other punishment would have made as much of an impression on her as having to humiliate herself like this. It will make her think in the future!

Don’t you just wish you were an American, Tilly! LOL! We have such a wise judicious branch! I heard about this…hadn’t seen the video. Goodness! Maybe I have the wrong idea..it IS creative.
