A Denture Adventure

A juvenile reaction
to a baby tooth extraction:

£2 – Yeah!

A middle-aged reaction
to a wisdom tooth extraction:

Quake
Quiver
Sob
Shiver
Cry
Weep
Pills
Sleep
Moan
Groan
Complain
Pain

An elderly reaction
to a last-ever extraction:

Sigh
Slurp
Burp

These are the kinds of ‘adventures’ that one does not WANT to have!!

It is that middle aged reaction that scares me! I hope it never comes….. very creative adventure!

Rather like Shakespeare’s ages of man! Born toothless, and if we live long enough the chances grow and grow that we might eventually end up how we started… The wisdom teeth are the most painful thing in our mouths!

What a fab poem. It should be pasted on the wall of every dentist’s office, as a warning to be gentle and caring. I never had any wisdom teeth: does that mean that I am unwise? Needless to say Jock would refute the implications…

Thank you for the positive comments, everyone.

Viv: I think the middle section would terrify the patients 🙂

I didn’t mean paste it where the patients would see it – just in the place with filing cabinets and typewriters and things, where the dentist can’t help but see it! My son is having a root treatment at midday today.

        LOL! Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Re your son’s extraction – that’s a pain in the mouth and a pain in the bum both going in a matter of weeks 🙂

A painful experience can be presented with such wit and humour. Great!

I welcome your comments but be warned: I'm menopausal and as likely to snarl as smile. Wine or Maltesers are an acceptable bribe; or a compliment about my youthful looks and cheery disposition will do in a pinch.
