I Speak Truth: Don’t Trust Me

13 Feb

Have you ever lied about your age? Why?

I have never lied about my age.  I never saw the point.  I have always looked younger than I am: a pain at eighteen when I was the oldest in our group but the only one who had to show i.d. to get into a disco; not such a bother now.

How old do you think I am here?

Oscar Wilde once said:

One should never trust a woman who tells one her real age. A woman who would tell one that would tell one anything.

Those of you who’ve been reading my blog for a while know that Oscar is probably right.

I’m only as old as the women I feel.

And just how many women would that be?

      We need to have words…

    I can almost remember 32. 🙂

Oh, I’ve been 39 for a number of years now, and this is what I literally tell people. They can guess how many years…

If I told people I was 32, they’d say, “How come you look so old?”

Hehehe…I am with you…have never seen the point in lying about.
However, now that the seventies are looming maybe I will start to go backwards!

If anyone can carry it off, it’s you 🙂

    I don’t see the point either – I’m a 16-yr-old 73, and proud of it.

Yep 41 is good for me, I have never seen the point of hiding your age. Makes absolutely no sense to me at all.
    Love and hugs. xx 🙂

You are so pretty! I don’t much tell how old I am anymore. I usually forget anyway. I don’t think I’ve ever lied about it though.

My Ma was always evasive about her age, if asked.
“I’m as old as my tongue and a little older than my teeth,” she would say if we asked.
I think 50 is a nice round number… perhaps I’ll stay here next year?

My age is dependent upon how recently I caught a glimpse of my countenance in a mirror. 🙂

I welcome your comments but be warned: I'm menopausal and as likely to snarl as smile. Wine or Maltesers are an acceptable bribe; or a compliment about my youthful looks and cheery disposition will do in a pinch.
