Alexandra Park was given to the district of Edgeley by the Sykes family. We can walk, fish (with a licence and so long as we throw them all back), go on the swings, picnic, play games. It’s a nice park.
Every Tuesday afternoon, a bunch of old men gather on one side of the reservoir to sail boats and ignore passersby.
Why is that an interesting thing to do? Same with remote control cars: why not drive the real thing?
I just don’t get it.

I am a little fat. I like food; what can I say? I have dull hair: mousey. I don’t wear much make-up and have no need of a dressing table. If I look like a bag lady, I chose my own clothes. If I look nice, the Hub picked them for me. Despite all this, I am a little vain. This photograph is from 2003. I had to go back that far to find one of me that I liked. But I don’t really care: my husband still thinks I’m beautiful and if he doesn’t, he loves me enough to lie about it. I’m lucky. I have two boys. They never lie to me. Still, you can't have everything.

Model boats, trains, planes, and automobiles are a whole lot cheaper and less dangerous . . . especially for old men who just need to get out of the house for a bit. 😉

People surely are an odd species, very hard to work out.
I guess that’s what makes the puzzle more interesting.
My brain likes working out puzzles, but people are not like jig-saws they keep changing and that makes it more complicated…hehehe.
I have to laugh about it, at least I have my bloggy friends. They are all open books and so much easier to understand.

Boats work on the same principle as fishing when you throw the fish then throwing them back. To an observer both are a pointless exercise except to the particpants and then it’s a challenge!

Love the photo for this challenge, although I feel a bit like I’m in that boat that’s tipped over – lol
I guess driving model cars and boats etc makes up for not being able to do the real thing – maybe because of location/money etc.
What I really DON’T understand is those folks you see at Preston Train station…they watch as EVERY train passes by and then TICK it off their list…I mean, why don’t they just tick them all off in the first place and just go to the pub instead?

I don’t think it’s complicated – they can’t possibly afford the real thing.I had a sailboat (not motorised) as a child and loved watching it on the pond, running round to pull it out and set it off again.
Anyway, it gets them out of the house which must be good. Although I have reservations about the noise thing – particularly model airplanes.
