Joke 99

1 Jul

A boy had reached four without giving up the habit of sucking his thumb, though his mother had tried everything from bribery to reasoning to painting it with lemon juice to discourage the habit.

Finally she tried threats, warning her son that, “If you don’t stop sucking your thumb, your stomach is going to blow up like a balloon.”

Later that day, walking in the park, mother and son saw a pregnant woman sitting on a bench.

The four-year-old considered the woman gravely for a minute, then spoke to her, saying, “Uh-oh … I know what you’ve been doing.”

Too too funny. I had a special interest in this one because we’re having a miserable time getting my four-year old granddaughter to stop sucking her thumb.

i guess i just finally got enough garbage from my teachers. grew out of it … nothing fancy or special. my pediatrician used to threaten to buy my mom a bottle of hot sauce to paint on my thumb. looking back now i should have recognized the empty threat .. there were only a few hours a day i held still enough to actually pull that manuever and i was sleeping during them. my poor mom had to have some time to sleep and medicate herself!

Could be worse. Could be somebody else’s thumb. Still….

Ah, thumb sucking, a sore spot at our house. My 3-year-old has been sucking his thumb since he was in the womb and he just won’t stop. I’ve started to save up for major dental brace work since not only his teeth but his whole mouth will have to be reshaped.

But still, that joke was funny.

Just SO funny…my hub just walked past and said, “Someone is having a good old giggle!”
He’s not got the same humour as me at all, so I hid the screen.
His jokes are so boring Tilly.
    Love and hugs my friend.
    Lisa. xx 🙂

I hope he doesn’t read what you just wrote 🙂

Thanks for the compliment 🙂 🙂

I welcome your comments but be warned: I'm menopausal and as likely to snarl as smile. Wine or Maltesers are an acceptable bribe; or a compliment about my youthful looks and cheery disposition will do in a pinch.
