Describe your dream house.
It can be a shack in a shanty town or a palace in Palestine; I really don’t care. I have only one requirement: no clutter.
For new readers who don’t know my back story, the Hub was a pack rat in a previous life. I’ll include some links for you to read as evidence.
The Hub hasn’t yet made the connection that no clutter = no nagging. When he does, I think my marriage might end up surviving past twenty-seven years after all.

I am a little fat. I like food; what can I say? I have dull hair: mousey. I don’t wear much make-up and have no need of a dressing table. If I look like a bag lady, I chose my own clothes. If I look nice, the Hub picked them for me. Despite all this, I am a little vain. This photograph is from 2003. I had to go back that far to find one of me that I liked. But I don’t really care: my husband still thinks I’m beautiful and if he doesn’t, he loves me enough to lie about it. I’m lucky. I have two boys. They never lie to me. Still, you can't have everything.

You wouldn’t like this house then! There are books and quilts and “stuff” everywhere. When you come, you could sleep in the car port – there’s nothing but a car in there, and it could stay outside for a bit!

Oh Oh… I’m a “kind-of” a pack rat… I think most creative people are. I use things in cycles of emthusiasm / opportunity / time / funds etc but I DO USE it all.
Therein lies the problem: when I get back to making handmade prints I will NEED my printing gear. When I resume drawing/sewing/crafts of multiple descriptions I will need my stuff.
One thing I WILL do is to finally let go of a few crafts that I’ve moved on from in some way or another… I have a HUGE cross stitch pattern collection but am more interested in the detailed, harder more complicated patterns these days… I resolve to weed out all the really simple patterns that I’ve long since moved on from.
See? a kind-of pack-rat resolving to try harder… (and NO I don’t, and never have, had the urge to horde electrical plugs, old cardboard boxes, hideous lamps or bits of carpet).. so I might be a salvageable pack-rat… Yes?

I am not a pack rat. In fact, I tend to be over zealous in throwing stuff out. Fortunately, hubby tends to be the same way. lol.

I like my home to look lived in, but not too cluttered. It’s a fine line between the two sometimes.

I’m quite keen on throwing certain things away, but I like and retain useful things.
The problem is my husband keeps the type of things I find pointless and vice versa.
Is there really room in this house for the two of us?

I hate clutter but I seem to collect it all the same. I regularly get bin bags and chuck out half our worldly goods but it seems to make no difference. I think somewhere the’s a Random Clutter Generator at work.

You don’t recycle/give to charity?? I’m shocked. De-cluttering is all very well but it’s finding a home for it that’s good for the soul. 🙂

Sometimes it takes men awhile to catch on! I have my own clutter but it’s a somewhat organized mess!

Tilly dont cme here though my husband would lvoe it if you did. I tend to be the pack rat in this crownd and clutter I cannot stand in my main living area at all. But my hidden rooms. YIKES!

We’ve spent the past 24 hours de-cluttering ~ and will be donating a huge armoire, a large TV console, and some assorted STUFF to Habitat for Humanity on Thursday when they send the truck to pick it up!

My hubby is a pack-rat, too. He comes from a long line of them. It’s a difficult thing to fight, but after 33 years of marriage we’re still together and still fighting over his ‘stuff’. Occasionally, I just chuck stuff — and, he never realizes it!

i find myself on a hoarders marathon and its put the fear of god in me. i have had many a sleepless nights in the last few weeks staying up cleaning and purging the house of clutter. one show and i’m up and tearing around the house! my two year old renders much of the effort inffective mind you, but i still am fighting the battle!

Oh, Oh! I have the tendency to clutter and my wife have the tendency to nag me about it. She’s a “clean , germ-free home” kind of a gal and I’m the “I don’t care as long as I have roof above my head” kind of a guy. I guess opposites attract! Your dream house is beautiful though. I like the photo.
