Wham, Bam, Thank You Spam

The Hot Shot Bald Cop, having been rumbled, left one parting compliment and never called back.

Now I am under attack again, but in a way that makes me feel butterflies are in charge of the war: I have had at least twenty ‘Likes’ in the past two days, from foreign folk who don’t leave a link, just their Gravatar; mostly French and German Gravatars.  Perhaps that’s why they hit the ‘Like’ button – we are all Europeans these days, so ich bin ein Berliner and they are from Germport and Pardon.

I have no complaints, therefore, except (oh come on – you knew I’d have at least one), why are they liking older posts?  What use is that to me?  If you’re going to spam me, please do it on the latest posts so new readers think I’m popular and will return to laugh another day.

On the subject of spam, you will never guess what I received in my spam box the other day (dirty answers on a postcard and send them to Big Al, please): a joke!  Here it is:

I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, “I’m going to mop the floor with your face.” I said, “You’ll be sorry.” He said, “Oh, yeah? Why?” I said, “Well, you won’t be able to get into the corners very well.”

I don’t understand you moaning minnies out there, always going on about spam.  Bring it on! I say; I can always use a good compliment from a twisted stranger.

I was glad to see the back of the balding spammer! The vagaries of random likers are beyond me to explain.

I have had quite a few from the Bald man but he never says anything nasty so I just read it and dispose of it .
Do get some very strange spam ones but again not always bad. I don’t see any harm in reading early posts. They just know talent when they read it!

I am so jealous…I never get interesting spam!

    • Tilly Bud September 13, 2011 at 10:20 #

You’re too busy living an interesting life 🙂

I always enjoy how you deal with the spam 🙂 I’m not in your league, so I have yet to get the amount of enteratining guff you do!

The secret is to open your brain and let the garbage leak onto the blog page. 🙂

Must be some way they’re sneaking through technology. Seems awfully weird that somebody would put committed time into sitting and spamming bloggers, as important as we are. 🙂

Bring on those dirty postcards! Thanks, T. B., if it weren’t for you I’d get no mail at all.

I too went through the bald man comments, but just ignored them, no delete – nothing. And now peace at last.

    • Tilly Bud September 14, 2011 at 10:34 #

He tired of your indifference and moved on 🙂

  8. slpmartin September 13, 2011 at 17:36 #

Had similar spam show up but the spam filter seemed to catch it…..I usually don’t even bother reading them…just hit delete. 🙂

    • Tilly Bud September 14, 2011 at 10:35 #

I read them because the occasional reader comment slips through.

Talking of slips…Tory Boy misread your name the first time and now he calls you Slip Martin 🙂

        that’s what is says, isn’t it…. ?

Hi Tilly, I just want you to know I don’t know anyone in Pardon or that other place. Also, those butterflies look kinda washed out. What did you do to them? They were supposed to be orange. Why are all the animals at your place albino or anemic? (See I am a noticing kind of person). Anyway, the spam I get is the low-hanging kind….boring and easily picked up.

On the other hand, I did get an email from my ‘friend’ Tracy who is supposedly in London and was mugged. She says I should send money to help her out of a jam. The muggers took her purse and she is unable to pay her hotel bill. Do you think I should respond??

I don’t read the spam; I just click on empty spam, and it all disappears.

I am interesting your comments, I would like to here more of this, you have a fascinating subjects, I am very lucky to have found your Tilly Butt and will bookmurk this web to look fourward to more earn money online.

(BTW, I have two Bald Cop comments – I’m keeping them in case he’s John McClane)

😀 You almost got trashed until the last line, when I thought, That’s specific; who wrote this? Not an interesting thought, I know, but it saved you from a spamming worse than death.

Your irreverence is refreshing. And thanks for the “heads up” on the bald dude!

  13. sanstorm September 13, 2011 at 22:21 #

Yup – I had a few random Europeans ‘liking’ an old blog post all on the same day. What is the motivation of a spammer? Wouldn’t it be more fulfilling to actually exist?

  14. kateshrewsday September 13, 2011 at 23:09 #

I love spam. But mainly because every now and then a legitimate comment slips in there

  15. molly September 14, 2011 at 02:20 #

The flutter-by image says it all – you’re right Tilly, when it comes to spam, don’t sweat the small stuff, cheers catchul8r molly

  16. Audrey September 14, 2011 at 03:17 #

I love my email. It sorts out the spam. I glance and then hit delete on 99% of it. Weird thing, often my daughter’s emails end up in my spam folder. Hmmm LOL

  17. belleofthecarnival September 14, 2011 at 04:31 #

Chuckles! He left you too! The Bugger!

  18. ElizOF September 17, 2011 at 11:46 #

I delete 99.9% of my spam as some come with viruses attached… a total waste of time to read them … It comes with the territory and I suppose, it lets us know others out there can find us. 🙂

  19. ElizOF September 17, 2011 at 11:46 #

I’m finally catching up on everyone’s blog. Thank you for your patience! 🙂

oh my gosh—laughing hysterically. Reminds me of my Aunt. She and my uncle were ‘courting’ and living in North Minneapolis. Many of my Aunt’s cousins etc were on the police force. One night they were out for the evening and my uncle got pulled over. After the cop wrote the ticket my aunt leaned forward and said “I hope you enjoy your 2nd week on the force as much as your first”…the cop leaned in the window and said “what was that miss???” My uncle said “She said thank you officer” smiled and closed the window. They drove off with my aunt ranting at my uncle. That was the night my uncle decided she was the woman for him. He called her “Sparky” thereafter whenever he was feeling romantic!!

I welcome your comments but be warned: I'm menopausal and as likely to snarl as smile. Wine or Maltesers are an acceptable bribe; or a compliment about my youthful looks and cheery disposition will do in a pinch.
