Anticipation Is 9/10ths Of The Fun

I am looking forward to something nice, fun, exciting and new that is going to happen for me this week. I’m not telling you what, though, until it’s over. I’ll give you some clues and you can try and guess:

I have never done it before. Though I sort of have.
Scotland is sort of involved, though not really.
It relates to a country which I have never visited, though I sort of have.

Any idea yet? No? Okay, let’s make it a little easier:

My first is in vivacious, though never in vain.
My second’s a hotel, though somewhat plain.
My third is a land of stripes and strong smells.
The whole will be fun, though I cannot yet tell.

I anticipate that I’m going to have a blast this week. I know I will, because, well, I can’t say…you will have to put on your conjecturing hats and hope that I don’t forget to tell you all about it.

Sorry – another comment – your title is so right. Anticipation IS 9/10ths of the fun which is the other reason why I don’t like surprise parties/visits. The first possibly being related to being a control freak! 🙂

So are you visiting the London Zoo where they house elephants and apes (smells); tigers and zebra (stripes); housed in cages (a very plain hotel); fun (well yes if you can find something good to eat); a place you have never been although you have sort of been there (you have never been to the Zoo? and you watch Nature programs on TV); Scottish ( Highland cattle or kyloe, a Scottish breed of beef cattle with long horns and long wavy coats which are coloured black, brindled, red, yellow or dun are kept in the zoo and they smell odd);

Or, the Hub is taking you away on a weekend retreat somewhere outside of London.

This Is Me:

I am a little fat. I like food; what can I say? I have dull hair: mousey. I don’t wear much make-up and have no need of a dressing table. If I look like a bag lady, I chose my own clothes. If I look nice, the Hub picked them for me. Despite all this, I am a little vain. This photograph is from 2003. I had to go back that far to find one of me that I liked. But I don’t really care: my husband still thinks I’m beautiful and if he doesn’t, he loves me enough to lie about it. I’m lucky. I have two boys. They never lie to me. Still, you can't have everything.
