Please, WordPress, Save Me!

If you are reading this, you are probably a subscriber (thanks for that, by the way; you are keeping me alive in the blogosphere).  I don’t know how anyone else is managing to read me – each time I write a new post, the white space on my home page gets bigger.  You have to scroll down to the backside of your monitor to read the last visible post, dated 15 December.

I could suppose that it is a glitch in the WordPress system, but they haven’t responded to my two emails and I do have a history of poking fun at the WordPress prompters…but the prompters are not the techies and the techies have always been quick to respond.

Hmm.

Could it be that the prompters have kidnapped the techies to punish the techies for being more popular than the prompters; or is it a fiendish plot to stop the techies from helping their relentless tormentor?  Could it really be that I have an ego the size of Mohammed Ali and there is no correlation between my faulty blog and the absence of any help?  That they don’t even know I exist and it is all coincidence?

Hmm.

It doesn’t help that I have been rendered offblogging for several days.  I still have an appetite so I’m not yet a hospital case, but when I’d rather watch a bad movie than sit at the computer, I know I’ve been seriously unwell.  However, I’m on the mend now, and intend to hound the techies, bombarding them with polite requests to get a move on, please, if it’s not too much trouble, thank you.  I haven’t yet reached the begging stage and I can’t unwrite what I’ve written and wouldn’t anyway because you readers would lynch me (as soon as you found me hiding over in blogspot), but I’m getting there.  I blog; therefore I am.  I blog not; and a thousand bad movies are lined up to muddle my mind.  Not pretty.  Did you ever see Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes?  Not blogging would be like living in that dreadful film for eternity; or until I found a new writing outlet, like anonymous, harassing letters to blogging techies who let me down when I needed them most.

I’m rambling; blame the phlegm.  And the nogudnik techies out partying when they should be working.

I now have to catch up with the many comments that you managed to leave.  I appreciate them; I do.  Thank you.  I like having hundreds of comments to read in Christmas week when I should be baking or shopping or drinking.  Think I could manage that last one, actually.  But the CoWAbunger announcement will be late because I can’t award it until I read your many, many, many comments.  Thank you again.

Really.

Anyone know where the WordPress techies live?  I won’t hurt them, I promise.

Really.

Ow Tilly, I wish I could help you, but I don’t know how! I’m so sorry. The only thing I can do is wish you luck. And wish you a quick reply by the WordPress crew. Perhaps they have disappeared into whiteness too! *hugs* Take care and stay calm, this will be solved. Perhaps your homepage is simply filled with snow…

I suspect the techies have left for Christmas vacation early 😉 I hope you are feeling better soon! And curling up with Return of the Killer Tomatoes!

Wow I’m surprised they’re not getting back to you. Usually they respond within 24 hours.

I would keep filling out their forms twice a day until someone responds. I also would post a request for help in the WordPress forums. Someone may know what is going on and help you get a hold of someone.

Good luck and I hope you get your blog back to normal very soon. Now I have to check if mine are screwed too!

After being deprived of your blog for several days, I finally found you yesterday. I can’t stop thinking about the guy with the arrow in his neck saying “Why me?” so watch it with the images, will you. I am glad I found you and selfish too, because this is all about ME. Dianne

Well, thankfully none of that nonsense is screwing up the display of your site. Maybe you need some more holiday spirit(s) to feel chipper and ready to tackle the drinking/noshing techies. Hope you get well soon.

Love? Hate? Word Press. Me too. when I rant and rave is like a mother hen when one of her chicks is heading toward the fox’s mouth. Done with love, but they need to seriously do something about their support. I find the forums a bit more helpful, but not enough to have me turning cart wheels of joy. Too old to do that anywy. Good luck.

Personally, I think you’re blacklisted. They’ve always answered any emails I’ve sent them 🙂

    Take care of you

Good luck Tilly – I’m now completely mad not blogging. But more than five minutes of concentration hurts my head.

If they don’t sort it soon, you could start a petition. I’ll sign!!

I’m with you all the way, Tilly – WP haven’t any of my several emails regarding the password problems on my pc. I STILL can’t get into my own blog other than as a visitor on that computer. Am I tarred with your mockery brush?

Tillly, so glad you’re feeling a little better and I found this through my usual route, on a Mac library page, so I think your page is on the mend too.

Have you ever talked to the techs before? I have and you can get an address devoted to one techie who you can refer to whenever anything goes wrong….I’ll look back to see if I can find my tame techies….

Glad to hear you are feeling better now, Tilly. The prompters are too, I’m sure – and the techies. 🙂

Hi Nicola. I really appreciate your offer of help, but it seems to be fixed now. Hooray!

Thanks so much for the offer, though.

Looks like the text on your homepage is back but now you’ve lost your sidebar. What is going on with WordPress? The traffic for both of my blogs has plummeted in the past week. I want to bet they’ve been making some programming changes that affect our blogs in many ways we don’t know.

You poor thing, I hope you get back on your feet and feel better. From this end of the computer I can’t see anything wrong with your blog site. I hope that the techies will get back to you soon and fix your pain.

Word press techies are the devil’s spawn. Which puts them one notch above a prompter.

If it makes you feel any better (and it probably won’t), WordPress glitches seem to be running as rampant as stuffy and runny noses. Tis the season. Have a Hot Toddy and things will seem better even if they aren’t… 😉

I welcome your comments but be warned: I'm menopausal and as likely to snarl as smile. Wine or Maltesers are an acceptable bribe; or a compliment about my youthful looks and cheery disposition will do in a pinch.
