I Have Nothing To Say

17 Mar

Should be called Six Wordless Saturday.

I have nothing to blog about so I have raided my Funnies For A Blue Day folder and found some helpful food tips.

Black type is from Delia; red type is the same tip but from that peculiar old lady who does the email rounds:

  • To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes.
  • Buy Smash mashed potato mix. Keeps in the cupboard for up to a year.
  • When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking tin, use a bit of dry cake mix instead and there won’t be any white mess on the outside of the cake.
  • Go to the bakery.  They’ll even decorate it for you.
  • Cure for headaches: take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away.
  • Take a lime, mix it with tequila, chill and drink.  All pains go away.
  • Don’t throw out all that leftover wine. Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces.
  • Leftover wine???????   HELLO!!!!!!

If you’ve finished the wine and tequila, go here for more Shix Word Shaturdays.

I’ve worn that tee shirt a couple of times, Tilly. I don’t know where it is today, though.
I love the tip with the lime. Both tips actually, but the headache one may come in handy. And possibly the apple one too.

Then there is the rhyme: “One tequila, two tequila, three tequila floor. Five tequila, six tequila, seven tequila, MORE” 🙂

    Love, love, loved it…
The tips meet grumpy, set in her ways humor.
Sounds like my grandmother and her matter of fact tone.
I had never heard the headache remedy.
I look forward to reading more of your blog.

I am definitely a Georgia girl…without the noticeable twang in my voice. My family have plenty of southern twang…my dad says it comes from being able to imitate other dialects and having friends from other areas of the country.
Thanks for asking about my name…there is a first time for everything…

I love these hints…. especially the wine one… even though why anyone would waste good wine and put it in ice trays is beyond me!

I definitely appreciate the potato tip with the apple and the ice tray with wine cubes is interesting, I never thought of freezing wine, I know you can’t freeze vodka but I never thought it through with the wine, there is more stuff in wine what with the grape juice and all. lol.

Awesome! I particularly like the cake one.

Although be wary of Delia’s tip about lime, headaches and foreheads. Once that juice starts dripping into your eyes I guarantee the throbbing will return, only with a new locus.

I welcome your comments but be warned: I'm menopausal and as likely to snarl as smile. Wine or Maltesers are an acceptable bribe; or a compliment about my youthful looks and cheery disposition will do in a pinch.
