I love the Hub; I do. Remember that if you ever hear he was found buried in a blue recycling bin left abandoned off the M6.
This was my lounge last April. Note the space in the corners. The other end was just as clear. I took the photograph because I knew I would need the memory to cling on to.
I am too embarrassed to show it as it is right now, but here’s an equivalent picture:
The Hub has promised to buy a shed this year so that I can have the house back.
Watch this space.
I love your lounge area, it is lovely. I love my hubby, really I do as well, but I think that I was venting over housework because he complains that the house isn’t immaculate and a pigsty when he is the source of said mess. I was getting out the vitriol because I am cleaning for his homecoming and he will probably complain anyway. He likes to complain. Your lounge area is so cozy and the couches are so inviting. The two photos are an excellent example in contrast.

Thanks. Don’t let your husband get away with blaming you if it’s his fault. That way domestic tyranthood lies 🙂

When he came home he did compliment the cleanliness of the house, he did complain about one thing and realized it, moments later, asking “did I just complain moments after getting home?” That’s the hubby for you, gotta love him.

Love your flair! As I glanced around I see a few topsy strewn across the floor…now if my dog would just learn to pick up behind herself I would be fine.

You were both very tidy when you stayed here! Are you sure you trained him right?

If I were you,I would immediately apply to appear on the reality show “Hoarders.” It could be your chance to be “discovered.”

Fortunately, he’s not yet that bad. I am allowed to chuck out/give away/sell stuff from time to time – usually when my patience has gone and he knows it’s the stuff or me. So far, he’s chosen me; one day he may not 😉

Yes… I was wondering about a spot of re-training, perhaps?

Let’s face it they don’t build houses for people with hobbies or pets. Never enough room – be gentle with him.

Thinking outside the box – I like it! But can I wait until October? Will my walls take the strain?

So you have ‘freecycle’ in your area? I sometimes see such things being given away for free…. then he could have it as an Easter present 🙂

We do; and I’ve seen sheds offered before.

Rejoice! Who wants to live with sterile perfection anyway? When you are old and cranky you will have lovely surroundings again and you will miss the mess.

Nope. Can’t ever imagine me missing mess. I like order. Even as a child I voluntarily tidied my room.

A bit like our own. (Which I would be similarly embarrassed to photograph!) We could singlehandedly stock the local car boot sale for the next six months. But it starts so dreadfully early…

I may give him the lounge and move into the shed.

I feel your pain — I think it’s a man thing — marking their territory or some such nonsense. Me and my ‘hubby’ have had many a good argument about the state of our living room. He’s much better now, though I do have to keep at him to pick up his crap. You have a lovely room; you’ll see it again one day, I’m sure.
