Sorry about yesterday! A full weekend, a lot of sun, a thumping headache and a faulty WordPress led to my little tantrum. Having slept on it, it occurred to me this morning that the photos were probably still in my media file; and they were.
I was going to give you a gallery but I didn’t want to fiddle about too much and lose things again, so you have to scroll down instead. It still took me an hour to compile this. But I’m in control of myself…really…I’m not secretly sticking pins into WordPress dolls or chanting around a cauldron…honest…

I would be embarrassed but the weather has been so bad, we haven’t been in our garden since last September, so I didn’t notice what a mess it was.
Green shed from Freecycle; old shed from B&Q 15 years ago; dead plants from the Hub’s vegetable-growing period, in which we got one minute carrot and three tiny radishes, after an outlay of at least £70…gardening is not our area of expertise.
How will I get the lawnmower in this?!
Now for a spring cleaning miracle:
Did I work hard or what?
I left the weeds growing up the sides because they are quite pretty. Green is green as far as I’m concerned. I have no shame – I’m not a gardener, and never will be. As this is barely a garden, I don’t think it matters.
Sorry about the bold; I’m not shouting: WordPress has found a new way not to co-operate. Where’s my cauldron?

Your garden looks like ours – I ventured out there last night to plant some sweet peas and was amazed at the havoc that had been wrought since last September, which was about the last time I looked at it. We had to strim our grass before we could mow it, it was knee high. Congratulations on getting it so neat and tidy, I am psyching myself up to finish tackling ours.
I like weeds too – a friend of mine calls them ‘God’s flowers’ 🙂

Brilliant – thank goodness for your sense of humour. I am having WP problems too and if I could just find one person on whom to lay the blame, I would lock them in the basement – except we don’t have a basement so I guess I am just (kind of) kidding! Go Tilly!

Nothing grows under the trees so it was dead space. Also, there’s shade – we have a petrol lawnmower, so it made sense for me to move it out of the sun.

Tilly you did a tremendous job, I like a field of dandelions and if you get the greens before the flowers bloom they are fantastic in a salad with oil and vinegar, croutons and bacon. The Japanese highly regard their dandelions, your garden cleans up quite nicely!

I love dandelion and burdock as a drink. Not sure how authentic the taste is – there’s probably about as much dandelion and burdock in it as there is coke (coal waste/drug/Sir Edward, jurist) in Coca-Cola 🙂

i thought I was watching a garden makeover on TV..what a difference but how long will it stay that way??/ I too am still having WP problems…like everytime I want to do something I have to log in…not so many re comments as there was before so its getting better

Good on you for the garden make-over… of course It’s one of the things I don;t have to worry about since I don’t actually have one. A few narrow balconies don’t count I suppose.
Sorry your WordPress is still misbehaving… mine is going fine! (but I’m so technically stupid that I’m grateful for every button that works on anything). You have never seen a slideshow on my blog because I’m clueless on how to make one LOL.

To create a gallery, you simply upload all photos, add caption, SAVE all changes, then click Gallery. Remember to SAVE first if you want your captions. Good luck!
I’m amazed you’ve got 4 coloured bins — does the council deal with all of them on a rota? We only have green and black bins collected here in the south.

The green bin (food & garden waste) can be emptied each week, but we put it out every couple of weeks, except in hot spells.
The black bin (non-recyclable waste) and blue bin (paper, card) are every two weeks.
The brown bin (bottles, plastics, cans) is every four weeks.
It’s a good system, on the whole.

It seems rather regular and great service.
We have GREEN and BLACK bins only, and a small black bowl for glass (once a month). Food waste goes straight into our compost.

I went for a couple of years without doing anything in my gardens. Finally they got so overgrown and raggedy that I decided to step away from the keyboard and the blogs and do a little gardening. Gardens are looking much better. Water fountains all are working. It’s a pleasure to sit in my gardens again.

You did quite a lot of work after letting your garden go nuts for the winter, congratulations!
When it come to WordPress, have you considered it may not all be them but maybe the browser you’re using? I mostly use Internet Explorer 8 (I should update to 9) and I know it won’t let me do a few things in WordPress, so I’ll have to open Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to do them. Just a thought…
