Another in my occasional series, The A To Z Of The Laughing Housewife.
N Is For A Number Of Things
Normal Service Has Been Resumed
Headache has more or less gone and I’m back to blogging as usual, except…there are
Not Enough Hours In The Day
To allow me to catch up with your comments and blogs and to comment on yours. Also, I’m
Not Feeling Great At The Computer At The Moment
I find that lately I’m struggling to spend my usual time at the computer, because my eyes burn with tiredness. Basically, I’m feeling
KNackered
I’m waking early; I’m nodding off around ten at night and sleeping well, but feel like I’ve had none when I wake up. I’m also
Napping
A lot in the afternoons.
Nice Choice Of Language From An English Graduate
Sorry about the earlier vulgarity – Knackered. For those who don’t know the meaning, it has several, one of which doesn’t apply in a family friendly blog, so I won’t include it:
- Exhausted
- Reprimanded
- Broken
The first and third go back to the Knacker’s Yard – a place to send worn-out horses for slaughtering.
If you didn’t understand Joke 548, re-read it with this explanation in mind.
So when I said
Normal Service Has Been Resumed
I was exaggerating a little because that is patently
Not True.
Your comments are still unanswered and your blogs unvisited. You know, I’m
Not Keen On The Letter N.
It’s a big fat fibber.
Now, I Just Want To Mention One Thing:
Do you read the comments other readers leave? Even though I don’t always answer them, I always read them. You should, too; they are often funnier than the posts.
This morning, in response to today’s joke, Katherine Trauger told me the bizarre story of her friend:
We know a guy with an artificial arm…he lost his original arm while trying to escape from prison — he was shot…While he was in prison the second time, his original artificial arm was stolen from him.
You couldn’t make it up.

Normal Service Will Be Resumed, I Promise.
Eventually. I’d gnaw off my arm before I let you down.
Yes, I read others’ comments, and agree in the sense that they are often very funny. Not .than your posts, though! Glad you’re getting back to normal – I too am cream crackered after a ?summer? of visitors

Computer screens are not healthy for headaches. And it’s tough to blog with your eyes closed. Love your blog, but health comes first. Take your time! 🙂

we love you too much to bother about whether you have made comments or not…I certainly don’t keep track.
I would much rather that you took life easy..one step at a time….remember your age!
Us old’ens have to be gentle with our lives and napping in the afternoon is good for the soul.
lots of love xxxxx

also forgot to mention…yes I do read other bloggers comments and quite often I hop across to read their blog, as a good comment often means a good blog worth reading.
also I agree with Sharechair.’.too much time staring at screen not good for head’ old Chinese proverb

I read just about all the comments on other people’s blogs, and often I’ll go and have a look at that person’s blog because of the comment they left. Do you think I’m suffering from FOMO? (Fear of missing out) 🙂 Hope you’re feeling much perkier before long, Tilly.

I used to do that but I read so many blogs these days, I just can’t read the comments as well 😦

No, I did not make that up — He is an alcoholic and that was part of why his arm did not heal well after the shooting. He is old, now, and has determined that giving up the alcohol was worth it. His friends helped him afford a new arm (the 2nd one) and he is currently a very grateful and helpful man.
But the entire story from yesterday is true. I could not resist telling it! 😉

After a migraine, it takes a while for normal service to be resumed, so don’t beat yourself up. Take it easy and soon you’ll be better. It’s been a busy couple of weeks for you. I’m not surprised you were visited by the Angel of Migraines (a creature of the cartoonist Gary Larsson). Get better soon, but not too soon, my friend.

GNAW, is kind an N word. Mother’s have this idea which is not ideal, that they have super human abilities which will take them where man fears to tread. That’s true, however there are limitations.

Maybe I shouldn’t ever visit again, if it has this effect?

Yes, take your time and get well as Grannymar said. Remember Rome wasn’t built in a day and you don’t want another round of hurting head. I had a teacher with an artificial arm. I don’t think she escaped from prison, but she did run off with the band director. I forot that until today. Cheers.

Some days, I wonder if the blogging commitment is worth it. Then I get comments like this, and I know it is.
Thanks for delighting my day, Dianne 🙂
