Saturday.  The scene: dinner time in the Bud House.

Spud:  What’s for dinner?

Tilly:  Bacon eggs pork sausages beans tomatoes leftover potato croquettes I found in the bottom of the freezer from when the kids were here in August because I’ve run out of hash browns and bread to soak it all up.

Spud:  Bacon?  But we had gammon yesterday.  Why are we having what is effectively the same meat again?

Tilly [Not bothering to put up a fight she knows she’ll lose]:  Fine.  What do you want instead?

Spud:  Sandwiches.  Got any ham?

Sunday.  The scene: dinner time in the Bud House.

Tilly:  Bacon eggs sausage beans tomatoes leftover potato croquettes I found in the bottom of the freezer from when the kids were here in August because I’ve run out of hash browns and bread to soak it all up.

Spud:  Do I have to have bacon?  I had ham yesterday and gammon the day before.

Tilly: [Previous bracketed comment refers]:  Fine.  No bacon; just have the pork sausages.

Spud:  Okay, great!

AND black pudding AND baked beans. This is often our preferred Sunday supper. I couldn’t eat it at breakfast time these days, but it is a great meal. I hanker for fried bread, too, though I know I shouldn’t.

I haven’t had a typical English breakfast in years… Brings back memories… I’d love some baked beans! 😉

Just have an Hawaiian luau. That way the Spudster can choose whatever part of the pig he wants.

Always at your service, Tilly Bud.

Did you hear of the baconarmaggedon or the porkopacolypse? We, over across the pond, panicked for a few days that there was going to be a shortage of the beloved pork due to our failed corn crop. Turned out to be a hoax. Silly us.

Your son sounds so much like my husband. Neither likes the same food twice in the week.

Oh that looks amazing! I use to be able to eat such wonderful food! Unfortunately since I had cancer, now my nutritionist would only allow the tomatoes and a couple of eggs. I think they’re trying to kill e… no fired food (I live in the SOUTH) LOL, alcohol limited to one 5oz drink up to 3 times a week, never more than one a day… Can have dark beer or wine, but also, only 3x a week at most and never more than once a day. I’d give anything to be able to sneak a plate… that looks SO yummy! 😀
