Apologies that I have not yet responded to your comments or visited your blogs.  I am what is technically known as ‘knackered’.

Quite apart from the Christmas build-up and all the work involved, we have had a lot of (welcome) visitors, including on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day.

Tory Boy arrived late on Sunday night and left at seven this morning – the first time in about six years that he hasn’t worked Christmas Eve and Boxing Day.  I was afraid I would oversleep and miss saying goodbye so of course I woke up every hour and I feel like a zombie this morning.  I managed a couple of hours on the couch, when I fell asleep watching TV.

I have decided to take a pyjama day.  I promise to wash and brush my teeth so I don’t smell, but I’m not getting dressed.  I’m going to catch up on some TV and eat leftovers.

You are welcome to visit, but bring your dressing gown and slippers.

So has Boxing Day officially become Pyjama Day? We don’t celebrate either in the States. Dec.26 is Return-the-Unwanted-Presents-Day and Cash-in-the -Gift -Cards-Day-at-the-Malls Day. It’s one of the busiest shopping days of the year after Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. We’re shoppers, we Yanks. We stock up on Christmas cards, wrapping paper, ornaments, Christmas trees, decorations, etc. in anticipation of Christmas next year since everything is 50-70% off. What’s not to like?

Our shops open for the sales on Boxing Day. I don’t understand it – everyone has done nothing but shop for the whole of December; how do they have any money left?

One of the reasons I like to stock up so over-abundantly at Christmas is so that I am not forced to go into a shop until the end of January.

      Madness!

Rest well as I am expecting many chuckles in 2013. By the way, love the new hair style.

I would love to come over and watch movies and eat left-overs but darn I would have to get out of my jammies , comb my hair and all that…so think I will take a rain check and stay in. We can compare movies later.:)

I have had quite a few pyjama days this Dec the first in many years. Resting nicely and hoping I am doing everything right to recuperate. I am sure you deserve this rest too.

Egg zactly a good idea. Why get up and dress up for the sake of it?
Of course, in our climate wearing pyjamas means one is overdressed.

Never thought I’d miss wearing shorts on Christmas Day, but I do.

Mind you, the rain has made it so mild, we haven’t had the heat on since last Sunday.

So, a toss-up between wet and warm or dry and cold? I think I prefer warm and dry.

Linda, good on you …. I did the same on Christmas Day … and I’m going to do on New Years Eve too.
Crawl up in my big bed with ice cream, chocolate and loads of unseen movies. Can’t wait.

I completely understand! I didn’t get dressed yesterday, and had my PJ day! Today I had to at least check on my mom, so I managed to get dressed…and at this point I’m enjoying reading what others are doing, but haven’t had any inspiration to write a word of my own. I think many of us are in varying levels of recovery! I always remind others and myself…we are not machines! It is good to listen to our needs and find rest when we can! oxo
