Six Word Saturday

5 Jan

I’m watching

The Big Bang Theory

The complete box set was my Christmas present from Tory Boy (excellent child!).

The show is about a socially inept group of nerds, some of whom live together.

They love Star Trek, Doctor Who, Harry Potter and gaming.

They spend most of their time on computers and/or eating.

They are awkward and demanding know-it-alls.

They have peculiar rules and rituals which baffle outsiders.

I think it’s based on my family.

My two don’t like this one, because of the canned laughter, but adore the IT Crowd. Have you seen that?

Canned laughter?! Wash your mouth out with soap!

It’s taped in front of an audience. Check this gag reel, especially at 5:57 and 7:24, when the audience provoke the actors:

Big Bang Theory is one of my favorite shows, ever. It is wonderful… never a bad episode. And it’s still on, and the shows are still great. Has not lost it’s cleverness, at all. 🙂

This is one of my favorite TV series. It reminds me of one of my oldest friends Alen from primary school, whom I am still friends with. We always thought he would become a physicist. Instead he got involved in radio and voice overs and political commentary. He is possibly the smartest person I know. It was he who suggested the Chinese Christmas Eve and I am forever in his debt. He also loves the Big Bang. He can relate.

Tilly… Tilly… Tilly… it’s Laurie. I love Penny and Sheldon together. I know that they aren’t “together” but they have a dynamic that you don’t get to see very often on t.v.

This honestly is my all time favorite show but then again I am an academic. I know way too many people that are actually like the characters.

I’ve never missed an episode, despite the fact that my professional life is filled with Sheldons–you’d think I’d get enough of him all day long, want to avoid him for entertainment purposes…but no.
