Weekly Photo Challenge: Beyond (2)

27 Feb

As one cannot wear a velour track suit without looking scruffy, even when one’s velour track suit is brand new; and one cannot help but look triple-chinned when one’s Hub takes a standing photo of one whilst sitting, I think one’s caving to your demands for a photo takes one above and beyond the call of blogging duty, hence one’s use of formal language to distance oneself from – or get beyond, if you will – a very unflattering photograph.

Really, dear readers, insisting on photographs to back up photographic prompt posts is beyond the pale.  One might even call it madness.

Can \i have it when you’ve finished with it? I love tracksuits!

I agree with you. I gave my lovely warm, once worn, wine coloured track suit to my sister. She doesn’t mind looking scruffy……..I do. 😀

Not sure if I sure be offended or not…nah, I’m too cosy and comfortable to be offended 🙂

I have to say you have a great laugh! Can you tell me about that painting(?) in the background behind your velour? Thanks and congratulations on your blog!

    • The Laughing Housewife March 1, 2013 at 08:03 #

      Thank you and welcome!

The painting is of my in-laws on their wedding day. My husband commissioned it for their Golden Wedding anniversary. The artist did it from a photograph. We got it back when they died.

It’s by a South African artists; we were living there at the time.

I live as scruffy. Velour track suit would be a dress up day.

  5. laurieanichols February 27, 2013 at 23:07 #

You don’t look scruffy, there is a notable absence of lint and dog hair. You don’t seem very enthusiastic about the picture taking. Your track suit is the same as mine.:)

    Nonsense. Stunning.
    Love the vid, too.

  7. robincoyle February 27, 2013 at 23:20 #

You look fetching. This is a case of peer pressure at its best.

  8. mairedubhtx February 27, 2013 at 23:35 #

You are rocking the look! It looks quite comfy! I want one! Tell Hub to send me one, too!

It looks lovely and comfy. 🙂

I would not have succumbed to people’s requests for a photo, but then I wouldn’t be caught dead in a track suit. It suits Betty White in Hot in Cleveland, but not me ever! But then I live most of my days in house dresses!

    • The Laughing Housewife March 1, 2013 at 08:06 #

Well thanks for nothing! Now I can never wear it again. Or watch Hot in Cleveland.

      • benzeknees March 1, 2013 at 08:13 #

Do you get Hot in Cleveland in England? It sounds like it. I hope you realize I was doing this totally tongue in cheek (my sense of humor) & I compared to me wearing housedresses every day! I would never take a pic of me in my housedresses. Please tell me I didn’t hurt your feelings? Bad, bad benze!

        • The Laughing Housewife March 1, 2013 at 09:00 #

No, no, I was joking with you! I totally got that you were teasing. Sorry if I worried you. The trouble with t’internet is that nuance is often lost.

HIC is on one of the cable channels. I’ve seen about four episodes so I knew exactly what you were talking about 😀

  14. bevchen February 28, 2013 at 08:55 #

It looks quite comfy actually. You don’t seem to impressed about having the photo taken though.

It could have been much worse… it could have been neon green!

I HAVE LOVED VELOUR since the 80″s- my kids make fun of me!!

I welcome your comments but be warned: I'm menopausal and as likely to snarl as smile. Wine or Maltesers are an acceptable bribe; or a compliment about my youthful looks and cheery disposition will do in a pinch.
