It’s been a while since I participated in Six Word Saturday and it’s been a while since I went
off to a table top sale
I’m going to walk up to church with my dogs and spend money I don’t really have on stuff I don’t really need. A pleasant way to spend Saturday.
But first, I’m going to take a shower: it’s been a while.
like 24 hours?

Have fun – that sounds like a nice way to spend a Saturday – I mean the table top sale, not the shower! 😉 Although a shower is pleasurable too. 🙂

Here, we call them Tag Sales or Yard Sales (even if the items are not tagged, or the sale happens in a parking lot. Also: Rummage sales.
Happy treasure hunting, TB!

They are table top sales if indoors and car boot sales if outdoors.

Is a table top sale similar to our garage sale or yard sale? Or do they only sell table tops?

Heehee! No, you were right first time 🙂

Hope it isn’t as cold as it is in Northumberland for those poor sellers! Sally

It is, but it was indoors so not too bad.

I love UK Bar Coot Sales with a passion. We have nothing nearly as good. I have found that by visiting a few every weekend I could find targeted items – like brushcutter, camera, mountain bike, and winter-type clothes.

Great way to describe it, Tilly. I love yard sales no matter what you call ’em, which is why I never go. The temptations are right up there with unguarded cookies and the last piece of pie. Enjoy your treasures.

So as you go to the Sale, what remains your intention? To strike bargains or friendships?

That’s very philosophical for a lazy Saturday 🙂
I like a bargain but I prefer friendships 🙂

Table top sales is so much better than what we call them: garage sales. very weird since we are Not in fact selling our garage — just likely everything crammed inside it that we no longer need or use. oh…..ok, I get it now. 🙂
But it is rather fun way to spend a Saturday.

very fun way to spend the day! Me? I am planting some more herb starts- parsley, oregano, peppermint and rosemary. It’s gorgeous and sunny so I’ll play in the dirt and then take a sower! Cheers

There are so many rude responses on the tip of my tongue about that sower, I think I’ll just say ‘Thank you for your comment’ and leave it at that 😉

I hope you at least enjoy the stuff you don’t really need! And that the walk is fun for you and the dogs 😀

Have fun at your “Table Sale”. We call them Garage Sales here in Kansas…and like you, we all buy stuff we don’t need at them! Ha! When hubby and I were in England we went to a “Boot Sale”…and it was fun. 🙂

I used to love yard sales because you always find such interesting things. I went to one at the beach a few years ago & found a beautiful table with a brass top. Paid $5. I still have it!

My boys sold all of their toys when we came back to the UK. They spent the money they made at car boot sales and tripled their investment 🙂
