Driving to work, a gentleman had to swerve to avoid a box that fell out of a truck in front of him. Seconds later, a policeman pulled him over for reckless driving. Fortunately, another officer had seen the carton in the road. The policemen stopped traffic and recovered the box. It was found to contain large upholstery nails.
“I’m sorry sir,” the first trooper told the driver, “but I have to arrest you.”
Amazed, the driver asked for what.
The trooper replied, “Tacks evasion.”

Believe it or not, my daughter once was ticketed for driving over the exhaust system of a semi that had FALLEN OFF the truck. The officer said she was following too close for the conditions. I thought that was only for the weather and the road conditions! I mean, who can you call to find out if you should drive more slowly or leave more distance while using the Interstate because truck parts will be falling off?.
The driver was irate, too, “Why did you break my truck?!”
