Toby is easily spooked. He was abused as a pup and, although he is a happy and healthy dog now, some issues remain.
One dark night in January, Toby chose to sleep downstairs, even though it was cold and lonely; and here’s why:
He had been asleep, tucked up in his bed, covered by his blanket. His whole body was under the covers, including his nose.
That’s when he broke wind.
The peculiar smell sent him running off in panic.
I shouldn’t laugh, but I have a dog who is literally scared of his own farts.
Hahahahha that is too funny! You need to take video.

LOL! Toby reminds me of my grandfather’s dog Charlie, he lived until the ripe old age of 19. Charlie loved to run off, the little scamp, he kept my grandfather young. Poor Toby, the sensitive soul. 😀

Perhaps..Toby exited in the hopes of not getting blamed for the nighttime event…you know the “I wasn’t anywhere near the site of the crime!” 🙂

Oh my gosh! Poor Toby! How does one even begin to comfort a poor little animal when they’re that easily spooked! Awfully cute, though. That makes up for a little neuroses.

A story for the ages…love it … this will endure in your family lore for generations to come. Toby, the dog afraid of his own “fah-rts”… I had a very young grand-daughter who thought it was proper to say if in two syllables !
Thanks for the laugh
Peace and love,

It’s not a word I often use because it is ugly but it was necessary here 🙂

I’m afraid of my 9 year old son’s farts.
seriously. something is dead inside him. he must leave my house and go eat road kill or something. it’s awful – I’ve seen him clear a room of grown men. who were oddly also really proud of him.

Maybe he should be a kitty – so we could call him a scaredy-cat? My Bandit used to look so surprised when he passed gas – like what was that?

I knew a cat who was afraid of his farts too. Why can’t animals be like boys and just laugh at their bodily noises?
