If you have long hair like mine was, and decide to cut it, you can send it off to a charity in the UK called Little Princess. They make wigs for children who have lost their hair through cancer. A quick Google search found similar charities in other countries. Please think about doing it if you’re going short; you need a minimum of 7″/17cm and all it costs is a padded envelope and postage.
My hair was long but thin, so my plait was pretty feeble; but every little helps.
When the Hub posted it off, the clerk asked if there was anything valuable in the packet. The Hub explained what was in it and she winked and said, Aw, that’s nice. Are you going to do the same with your beard?
I think he should; I heard their office needs re-wiring.

That’s a great charity (actually, they’re all great). If you have seen any pictures of me you surely know I’ve donated most of my hair already….to the shower drain.
Tell the Hub that’s a world class beard. I’m jealous.

There ought to be SOME purpose for facial hair! What a waste that there isn’t. my sister-in-law’s hair grows so quickly and is so thick and beautiful. She has donated her hair to “Locks of Love” here in the States on many occasions. I think it’s such a wonderful thing to do. Unfortunately my hair has just never grown well long, but I do admire those who choose to do this. I’m really glad you’re calling attention to this wonderful gift to others!

A woman in my water aerobics class has lovely thick hair. She lets it grow and gets it cut for a similar effort here in our area. My hair is too thin for this alas.

What a generous thing to do. I would if I could but you can see how feeble my hair is. I’m pretty sure this was a once-in-a-lifetime event for me. The spirit is willing but the split ends are weak 🙂

It’s a great idea to donate your hair, unfortunately my hair has been processed for too many years to donate. But I would definitely agree your hubs should donate his beard!

This is a great service. I have a friend who benefits from such a charity. My daughters have donated their hair for years to “Locks of Love”. I can never seem to get mine to the required 12″. Although, give me a few years and I may have some facial hair to donate…ah, the advantages of getting old. 🙂
