This weekend it’s the Heatons Arts Trail – a bunch of artists in Heaton Moor open their galleries and invite you to look around and, hopefully, buy their work.

Write Out Loud members are supporting the event by tweeting poems.  I’ve written a cycle of 26 haiku  – we call them ‘twaiku’ – about the individual artists, based on the information in the flyer.  I’ll be honest – it’s not my greatest work; but it was fun to do.

I would say check me out at @laughwife and @heatonstwaiku but the first two twaiku I posted have not appeared.  Not that I’m a technept or anything…

If you are an art lovin’ Stopfordian, you should follow the trail.  Details here.  And don’t forget the art gallery

There’s just one annoying thing (no; not the Hub): I have had an earworm all week.  I think ‘Heatons Twaiku’ and I hear ‘Eton Rifles’.  What a Jam!

That’s why I’m having hearing aids! I like the idea of twaiku, but I don’t know how to tweet. To be honest, I don’t really want to know!

Well I never, Tilly! Considering I don’t exactly live a million miles away, I’d never heard the term ‘Stopfordian’ before. I love learning new things, including the history of Stokeport!
I hope your haikus turn up soon.

I never thought about tweeting poetry – or a haiku — probably because of the 140 character limit — but it sounds like a fabulous idea! Nice jam!

I am sure that tweeting haikus will become the next ‘Thing” and before you know it, your twitter feed will be bursting with followers. I have a twitter account, but i still don’t quite get it. Those young men are really cute int he video, very catchy tune which is stuck in my head now. 😀

I’ve never heard of the Eton Rifles, but as soon as I heard them it took me back to the era of the Beatles.

The Jam were an English punk band (I suppose) from the late Seventies. They had a huge following.

I welcome your comments but be warned: I'm menopausal and as likely to snarl as smile. Wine or Maltesers are an acceptable bribe; or a compliment about my youthful looks and cheery disposition will do in a pinch.
