Tomorrow Belongs To Spud

19 Nov

As I type this, Spud is appearing in a student production of Cabaret, as Cliff Bradshaw (the love interest – they do know he was my baby just two months ago, hey?).

The trailer above is from that production, but features only the Emcee (they do know that Spud is in it as well, hey?).

The video below is from another production, and is not Spud.  I include it to show you the song he’ll be singing:

But I prefer this version:

How exciting for Spud!!!! How very exciting for you and the Hub, every moment that our children can shine and advance in their path to their chosen career is doubly thrilling for us parents. 😀

It has been a privilege to observe how this young man has sprouted, though it’s easy to see where his talent was germinated.

So very exciting!! Best of luck to him… or, do they still say “break a leg?”
clearly I am not on the up with the big league lingo. unless it’s hockey… but “up top where they keep the peanut butter” just doesn’t seem right either.

We will be going but copyright law prohibits videos, unfortunately.

As for the Old Vic – maybe Spud can’t play King Lear, but he could play King Edward 😀

Cabaret is one of my very favorite musical productions. I think it’s very exciting that Spud is continuing to develop his talents and what fun for you to see him shine!

I was about to write Break a leg – but see that I’m too late. So happy for you (and Spud) that it went well, and you can all relax now – till the next time! Hope you got a good video recording, like all proud parents 😀

I welcome your comments but be warned: I'm menopausal and as likely to snarl as smile. Wine or Maltesers are an acceptable bribe; or a compliment about my youthful looks and cheery disposition will do in a pinch.
