This Post Is Useless To Those Of You Living Abroad

10 Dec

Have you seen today’s date?

10/12/14

I have scheduled this post to appear at almost twenty-past four, so it reads:

10/12/14 16:18

I probably have more fun on dates than anyone I know.

The Hub says he doubts it.

Not at all useless for us folks living abroad, I loved it! I clicked on to the behind the scenes clip afterwards and was amazed at what they had to do to set it all up.

I guess I will pay more attention to the time tomorrow…right now it’s still the 9th! 🙂 I hardly ever do notice the time when it lines up like you’ve noted. So you are tuned in. I do love the Piano Guys!

Not useless at all… I love to do the numbers game with digital clocks too…sigh….
I’m not easily amused… but it would seem so with dates…

I never thought to concentrate on the dates written the European way (it must have a real name.. as close as I can come). Thank you for another way to amuse myself.

Lately, I have been trying to figure out… and I know it isn’t comparable to figuring out World Peace… how Tory Boy and Spud got their nicknames… a way to keep my elderly mind up and working.

A friend told me someone in their family gives unique gifts each year and they can’t figure out the meaning of one year everyone got a roll of toilet paper and another year a light bulb. Little things like that…keep me curious. 🙂

    peace and love, Siggi

Tory Boy is heavily into politics so that’s how he got his name. Spud was the Hub’s nickname (Spud Bud) for Spud. When I started the blog, I wanted it to be anonymous so I used aliases.

A couple of years ago, Tory Boy decided he wanted a name change so I ran a poll with suggestions, some from my readers, and everyone voted. The majority voted to keep ‘Tory Boy’ – including Tory Boy! What a divvy.

One of our Christmas traditions is to write clues and you can’t open your presents until you’ve had several guesses. Some clues are easy, some are difficult, but none of them include toilet paper 🙂

siggi, my husband worked for the Navy Yard here in NH and they used the ‘military” form of dating things, which totally confuses me since now dates like 9/6/28 i can read two ways and sometimes upside down and still have no idea what it is unless I am standing in September or June and… well.. you get the drift there. I opt now for naming the MONTH so the DAY is the number.
Are you by any chance a member of the 1:23 club? I have a friend who regularly and often wakes up to see 1:23 on the digital clock by her bed, and then falls asleep again. I on the other hand am a member of the 11:11 club, which happens far more than chance would account for.
I make sure my husband knows about it, which thrills him deeply. not.

The Piano Guys are awesome! but your brilliant scheduling even more so. I’d have to actually look at a clock to be able to do that.

one of those cosmic bits where you happen to turn your head just at the right moment and there it is, just clicking over to 11:11. You know how there are people who can always find the four leaf clover or even, damn their eyes, the 5? Or that one person in a group who always always is looking just where the meteor shower is, um, meteoring…

consider yourself lucky, they can be sooo annoying. ” oh, look i saw a meteor” “oh, theres another, oh WOW theres three…” and all you see is mosquitoes and firmly fixed stars…
