There’s a song from The Book of Mormon called Turn it Off. That’s the advice given to those facing disaster or who may have too many feelings.
It just so happens that Alex sang it with some of his fellow performers on Friday night, and I have the video to prove it. I thought it might cheer up those of you in a state of shock right now. Or at the least help you to contain your horror.

I am a little fat. I like food; what can I say? I have dull hair: mousey. I don’t wear much make-up and have no need of a dressing table. If I look like a bag lady, I chose my own clothes. If I look nice, the Hub picked them for me. Despite all this, I am a little vain. This photograph is from 2003. I had to go back that far to find one of me that I liked. But I don’t really care: my husband still thinks I’m beautiful and if he doesn’t, he loves me enough to lie about it. I’m lucky. I have two boys. They never lie to me. Still, you can't have everything.

i love supply spiders. I can just see them, wingtip to wingtip, marching across the backrooms of stores, leaving bundles (neatly wrapped of course) of canned goods and clothes and necessaries…
Im just stunned and saddened. One of us voted for Hillary. The other one did not. It was a quiet morning here.

Seriously – Standing Ovation!! That was awesome and please take it on the road! Honestly yesterday I just looked at pictures of Tom Hardy with dogs (there’s an Instagram!!!) and then I felt all better. I’m not even American, but it is kinda like waking up to THAT neighbour, who just had like the WORST house party ever and you come out and there’s just trash and liquor bottles and passed out bodies all over the lawn, but you gotta be nice to keep the peace. Yeah, Tom and dogs is just so pure, ya know? 🙂

I’m so sorry to say that I couldn’t get the video to work. It may be a setting on my computer, so I’ll try again later. I could use any humor at all, quite frankly. I’m so utterly horrified and revolted and still just trying to cope. The divisions are so deep and wide in our country right now that it will be years before we recover. But we will.
