Exciting News! (For Me, Anyway)

17 Feb

So guess what I did yesterday? You’ll never guess. I’ll just tell you, shall I?

I did this:

That’s me signing something.

Shall we have a poll? We haven’t had a poll in years. Let’s have a poll!

Heeheeheeheeheeheehee!

I may be a little giddy with excitement: I’ve always wanted my own Malteser factory. I mean, I’ve always wanted to put the Hub away. No, no, I mean, my first poetry collection is coming out in the summer.

Here’s my publisher’s website. They are based in Marple and have been going for about twenty years.

Did you catch that? ‘Here’s my publisher’s website.’ Giddy doesn’t begin to cover it 🙂

Heeheeheeheeheeheehee!

oh how wonderful for you. Now you get to practice being famous and above it all at the same time. I would say I was green with envy but it’s just not my color.

I got it on the third guess! I imagine you did the book deal because it is so much easier than a factory takeover (possible jail time or hanging) or involuntary committal (so much red tape, screaming, and no time to write poems). Congratulations on your decision and for getting published!

When you come to the states for book signing, I’ll be the guy in line shouting “I KNOW HER, I KNOW HER!”

(P.S. You’ll want to bring your own Maltesers. They don’t exist over here.)

Stop the presses! I was in the drugstore yesterday and lo and behold they had Maltesers! First time I’ve ever seen them sold here. Now I’ll need to find a Malteser addiction support group. Will you be my sponsor?

Absolutely! The first thing I recommend is that you hand your stash over to me so you won’t be tempted.

Congratulations! In honor of your big event I have written you a truly horrid poem:

    How very exciting indeed!
Tillybud’s poems for all to read.
    We salute you my dear,
    With boundless good cheer.
    I hope that your rhymes
Earn you more than just dimes.
For someone as clever and talented as you
Deserves to finally be rewarded for all that you do.

    Much love and hugs!
    Janie

I welcome your comments but be warned: I'm menopausal and as likely to snarl as smile. Wine or Maltesers are an acceptable bribe; or a compliment about my youthful looks and cheery disposition will do in a pinch.
