My house is cluttered; you know this.
You also know that from time to time the mess gets me down even though, for the most part, I can live with it.
Last Wednesday was such a day.
This was my train of thought: I‘m never going to get rid of this stuff. Well, not until there’s just me, anyway, and I can decide without argument what stays and what goes.
Here’s what I said to the Hub: I can’t wait until you die and I can get rid of this stuff.
Worst wife ever.
Wonder if I’ll get a Christmas present this year?
There have been times when I have thought it, I haven’t said it, but I have thought it, what is it with needing all that stuff? You’ll definitely get a Christmas present for two reasons, the Hub adores you and he loves getting you stuff to further adorn the house. 😉 xxxooo

Thank you Tilly dearest, I very much appreciate the compliment, it’s not every day I get told I’m logical. Lol I like it. 😀

That’s not like my loving, generous friend Tilly! Jock’s stuff is in the garage, mine in my work room, and the rest is neutral. If each have their own spaces, there is harmony.
love,

I do have a space which I can retreat to, fortunately; and to be fair, I know and accept the reasons for the clutter. But some days – especially when I’m harassed by Christmas – it gets to even saintly me 😉

What’s this polidday stuff – apart from a page of code?

I don’t know. A WP thing, I think, because I have it on mine when someone comments.

It’s a sign of youth, Tilly. When I was young I made such mistakes. When you are old you won’t make mistakes in speech. ❤
But your gifts might be of the more ethereal kind this year?

LOVE that chart …….. I rated REALLY high on the demerits. Never darned a sock in my life. Good thing I’m not a 1939 wife.
p.s…….(recently joined facebook and sent you a friend request)

Interesting chart. I got 9 on the demerit side and 6 on the other side. Not sure what that makes me, but it doesnt look good.
I understand totally, what you’re saying. My husband comes from a long line of ‘keepers’, what enters the house stay in the house. ForEVER. It’s genetic. Now and then I will secrete things out in the trash, because he never paws through that stuff. But he has caught me before, trying to destroy his 60 year old school papers. sigh.
Just don’t let the clutter get you down, Tilly. I tell myself, a cluttered house is a mirror of the brain, and it means you have a busy active mind. And as a friend of mine once said, “my friends and family come to see ME, not the house. Anyone else doesnt matter.”

Grinch, thy name is Tilly Bud. I’ll email the Hub to tell him to get you a “Heart-O-Larger” machine, as obviously your heart is two sizes too small. (But Merry Christmas to you and family anyway)!

Well, at the risk of having my Malteser privileges revoked, I feel compelled to say, *I* see nothing wrong with what you said. When things get too messy or cluttered I have anxiety attacks. It is psychologically and physically painful. But then again, I’ve been told I’m some sort of organization freakazoid. I’ve pretty much been this way since I was old enough to remember anything. When I was as young as six I would organize my books on my shelves by color and by size. Woe to anyone who messed with the system. Just don’t expect me to dust anything.

I could have written your comment! I’m a great organiser.

Wait until after Christmas… place the new stuff in a prominent and then hubs won’t miss the old stuff you cleared to make room for it!!
Happy Christmas to one and all in the Tillybud household!

A good idea in theory; but the old stuff is now cluttering up the shed. Soon, there’ll be nowhere left to go…

One of those unspoken (formerly) truths. In our case, it’s all the kids stuff. But it’s equally considered rude to say we can’t wait for the children to grow up and be gone. We are supposed to be enjoying these golden and cluttered days. LOL But honestly, it does get to the point where my mind often feels completely clogged. Not to mention my hallways and shelves.

I like that my boys have more or less left home; I wish it was more, actually, as in more of their stuff was gone, so less was here.

Ha Ha, Glad I am not the only looney tunes. i woke up and went looking for my phone in David’s room at 1 AM. When I fell over some of the junk on his floor he finally woke up and helped me search. The phone was in his pants pocket……….
