One Prompt

12 May

What is the one word or phrase that immediately cheers you up when you hear it?

No shit, Sherlock.

It always makes me laugh; I don’t know why.

Sadly, I never use it, because I don’t swear.  Life is so unfair sometimes.

*

In other news…I haven’t been around much lately.  No mystery, just life.

No sugar, Sherlock, as my mother might say.  She didn’t swear either.

    Great to see you.

I like the new header photo… even if I miss the old one.

For me, it is: “New post on The Laughing Housewife” when it appears in my inbox.
This is, you, right? So glad! 🙂

Sally says Sausages and I caught that from her. But I swear sometimes.

That phrase always makes me laugh….but rarely use it for a similar reason.

I don’t think I have such a phrase, but I just asked my husband and without hesitation he said “bollocks!” and burst into laughter. (clearly giving away the fact that we watch a LOT of British programming…..) 🙂

It makes me chuckle too, because I always wonder how Sherlock Holmes would have responded to hearing it after he had solved a mystery.

I love that phrase. And I am absolutely the terrible mom who did utter it just as one of my children walked into the kitchen. and now I have a 4 year old looking cherub who utters “no sh$t” when she can’t believe something. whoops.
But I stand by it — it is a great phrase. just for later kiddos — much later.

Do you have a surrogate typist for the swear words? The Hub perhaps?

STILL love that new pic of you and the hub in the header!

Was going to apologize for my absence due to putting my computer in the computer hospital with some errant key sequence…
it took two visits…and a long wait of a couple of weeks each time… but I won’t do that… you went first !

I like your new photo … you always cheer me up…some people are just cheer makers…
    and
I do swear on occasion and I love the phrase “no shit Dick Tracy” tho I do know Sherlock also.

Happy to know all is well across the Big Pond. Hope you have a beautiful spring… it is just starting on the coast of Downeast Maine, about 3 weeks late… but we are suddenly abloom with tulips, daffodils forsythia and my favorite, my 3 kinds of bleeding hearts… the white,or Dutchman’s britches, being my favorite.

    Peace and love,
    Siggi

I welcome your comments but be warned: I'm menopausal and as likely to snarl as smile. Wine or Maltesers are an acceptable bribe; or a compliment about my youthful looks and cheery disposition will do in a pinch.
