Weekly Photo Challenge Catch-Up

22 Dec

Tory Boy went to Denmark in 2007, along with other college students from around Europe, to help the next generation integrate and perhaps avoid future conflict.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Path

The Pathway to Abroad begins with a rather frightening passport photo:

Would you buy a used car from this man? Or even a toy one?

Weekly Photo Challenge: Comfort

Or its opposite…

Weekly Photo Challenge: Wonder

The wonder is that some words never need translating, no matter how far they travel.  Charming.

Of, course, it is good old-fashioned Anglo-Saxon, so it might have come from the Danes in the first place...

Weekly Photo Challenge: Windows

A window into the future, when all Europeans will be on friendly terms:

Weekly Photo Challenge: Celebration

Celebrating all that’s great about Britain…our youth (particularly the handsome lad in the middle):

Please, please, please don’t feel obliged to comment on every post. I appreciate all your comments but it’s an awful lot for you to catch up on. I know you visit and that’s good enough for me.

Very cool set of catch up photos you have here. Great catch up and nice idea. I also have some catching up to do but not sure if I’m going to do just like you did.

Actually, the F-word is Dutch, as is the S-word. In fact most words considered rude or vulgar are Dutch and date from when the English stole New Amsterdam. The word Yankee is also Dutch from the Dutch word for John, which they called the Brits back then. If the Dutch had won that particular Anglo-Dutch war, what words would be considered vulgar. Vulgar itself only means common. Once again those on top decide what is vulgar and what is not. I imagine some Yankee wrote the F-word on that wall. Dianne (who is Dutch-German and English)

That was really and truly his passport photo? Wow.

Impressive leader of pack picture, that last one!

An eclectic but entertaining whistlestop tour of the wonderful world of The Laughing Housewife…thanks, Tilly, I loved it. (Is it wrong to admit the Anglo Saxon was my favourite?)

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a decent passport/ID photo (and they’re the ones that always end up in the Anglo-Saxing press if something untoward befalls us)

That passport picture was something. Why do they always turn out looking like mug-shots? 😉

I welcome your comments but be warned: I'm menopausal and as likely to snarl as smile. Wine or Maltesers are an acceptable bribe; or a compliment about my youthful looks and cheery disposition will do in a pinch.
