Yep, every day. 18 years on I still wonder what he’d think about the world, how the family has grown, how much he’d enjoy the fun.
    Hugs, Tilly

He was just like that – happiest when laughing and eating. Hang on…that rings a bell…

Thanks Barb. It gets easier but it never goes away, does it?

My dad has been gone 29 years and I miss him every day. You never stop missing them. You learn to live with it, but the hurt never goes away.

Twenty years for me this past February, three weeks short of his 77th birthday. Not a day goes by that he is not remembered with love, and joy. Sounds like we have both been blessed.

I’m glad that you have such happy memories of your dad, Tilly, but I’m sorry that he’s not here to share another birthday with you.

I lost mine 31 years ago.

I hope that today you’ve experienced some happy memories as well as the sentimental ones.

      I have.

I’m sorry to hear you lost your Dad so young. I thought mine was young to go at 64, but at least he saw my boys and I had him a decent length of time.

Thanks. I was 7, he was 47. Very young, yes.

He was born prematurely, weighing only 3lb’s and having pneumonia, I’ve been told. In those days it was a real miracle he survived at all. Despite damaged lungs, he became a smoker, not knowing the dangers of course.

I remember him as being very funny, having a sparkle in his eye. I also know he played football for his local town and sang in clubs. So although his 47 years were far too short, I do believe he enjoyed them to the full.

It’s not how long we live, but how we live. I’m glad you have happy memories. So many children with fathers still living don’t have them.

So often dads get forgotten…what they do and did…have become expected and rarely appreciated…so this was a good reading for me.

You wouldn’t think I would miss my dad, given stuff that happened, but I do. He would have been 100 this year! Whatever happens, in the end, you only have one father, and the good remains. Sounds like you had a wonderful relationship, Linda, and so you are blessed! Love, Amy

    {{{hugs}}} sorry I’m late Tilly.
I miss my Mom so very much too. Her Birthday falls on our wedding anniversary. It was lovely for her us getting married on her Birthday, she was so very pleased that we picked that date for her. We wanted to share our special day on her special day. Not so nice for me now she’s not here though.
Thinking of you and I’ll pray for you too.
    Love and hugs.
    Lisa. xx 🙂

Late, but always welcome. Thank you 🙂

At least your Mum is always a part of your day; that’s got to be nice.
