That was a surprise!
As you know, I signed up for Nano to prove to the Hub that I don’t have a novel in me. I started two hours ago with the first line in my head and a vague idea of what it might possibly be maybe perhaps about.
1749 words later, which I found surprisingly easy to write, I have four definite characters, a rough plot outline, a mini-cliffhanger ending to the first chapter, and a smug Hub saying, ‘I told you you could do it.’
The story so far: A deserted mother; two spoiled children; one chaotic day.
I can’t tell you any more because I don’t know what happens next. But I can’t wait to find out!
I hate it when the Hub is right.
I hate it when he’s right and it’s to my benefit.
I wonder if I should add a murder?
Good on you, Tilly. I knew you could do it. I switched to PAD November Chapbook Challenge and am regretting it already – that site is a nightmare!

Fabulous. Hubby is always on at me to write a book too. Why doesn’t he write his own book?? I think a murder is a great idea. 😀

You approve of me offing the Hub?

Well, I didn’t actually say that. I don’t know him well enough to decide his fate. 😀

If you did, you’d approve 😉

I know what you mean by hating when the Hub is right, but he is and BE HAPPY about it. It is not everyday that someone finds out that they have a talent for this sort of thing, so embrace it. I am happy for you and it is going to be good!!!

Not sure I’d call it a talent. But it is fun 🙂

Go! go! go! I wrote a book 10 years ago. It sits in my closet. It needs me to go over it a second time for a tidy-up. Somehow it never happens. I look to you for the inspiration to drag it back out!!!

Yes, always add the murder! You can take it out later if it doesn’t work, but it will make you feel better while you are struggling to write your 50,000 words. Everyone’s got a crappy rough draft in them. Just not everyone is brave enough to discover it.

I was talking of an actual murder (metaphorically speaking, of course) 😉

Yay for you, Tilly B! I too was surprised at how easy I found writing a lot of words. On my first idea, a couple of days ago, I got almost to 5000 when I realized I didn’t even like the story very much. Then, yesterday I pounded out 2,953 words on my new and solid topic. I think this is going to be a blast!

Wow! Impressive! I’m on target but no more than that.

That’s great. I only worked up a little extra so I can not write on a day if I just can’t write. 😎

So, a cliffhanger in both your book and your blog post? Not a bad day (except, perhaps, for the person who’s potentially about to be murdered). Good luck with it. 🙂
