Anticipation Is 9/10ths Of The Fun

6 Nov

I am looking forward to something nice, fun, exciting and new that is going to happen for me this week.  I’m not telling you what, though, until it’s over.  I’ll give you some clues and you can try and guess:

  1. I have never done it before.  Though I sort of have.
  2. Scotland is sort of involved, though not really.
  3. It relates to a country which I have never visited, though I sort of have.

Any idea yet?  No?  Okay, let’s make it a little easier:

My first is in vivacious, though never in vain.
My second’s a hotel, though somewhat plain.
My third is a land of stripes and strong smells.
The whole will be fun, though I cannot yet tell.

I anticipate that I’m going to have a blast this week.  I know I will, because, well, I can’t say…you will have to put on your conjecturing hats and hope that I don’t forget to tell you all about it.

For Sidey’s Weekend Theme, anticipation.

Sorry – another comment – your title is so right. Anticipation IS 9/10ths of the fun which is the other reason why I don’t like surprise parties/visits. The first possibly being related to being a control freak! 🙂

Not like surprises? Well I am surprised. And I don’t like it.

I don’t understand a word. But whatever it is, be sure to be on your best behaviour – lots of laughing but no housewifery.

You clues are enigmatic. The anticipation of finding out is tantalizingly teasing.

I have a very clever comment about what you’re going to do this week but you’ll just have to wait for it……..

    • Tilly Bud November 6, 2011 at 17:42 #

Al, meet Pseu…oh, you were in the same pod together?

      • Pseu November 7, 2011 at 16:38 #

I’m just off to visit Big Al (any relation to Kate’s nephew Al?)

    So are you visiting the London Zoo where they house elephants and apes (smells); tigers and zebra (stripes); housed in cages (a very plain hotel); fun (well yes if you can find something good to eat); a place you have never been although you have sort of been there (you have never been to the Zoo? and you watch Nature programs on TV); Scottish ( Highland cattle or kyloe, a Scottish breed of beef cattle with long horns and long wavy coats which are coloured black, brindled, red, yellow or dun are kept in the zoo and they smell odd);

Or, the Hub is taking you away on a weekend retreat somewhere outside of London.

Hope you have a fabulous time, whatever it is, and look forward to hearing about it.

PS – Do they sell Maltesers in Spain?

I welcome your comments but be warned: I'm menopausal and as likely to snarl as smile. Wine or Maltesers are an acceptable bribe; or a compliment about my youthful looks and cheery disposition will do in a pinch.
