Time To Change The Beds

11 May

We have a guest arriving tomorrow:

Our Christmas nephew: large, jolly, fun.

He’ll be here for a week.

I’ll still get some blogging done.

I will clean the house today.

At least there is no sun:

I can’t clean on sunny days;

I enjoy them till they’re gone.

No cream teas

I’m catching up with work as was out watching Ospreys on Thursday and shopping yesterday!

Now I know why you painted the bathroom! Don’t do too much cleaning – blokes don’t notice dirt! Have a good time.

No, it wasn’t for him; he’s part of the family. It was for my next two sets of visitors in May and June.

My Beloved Sandra will be returning from her Las Vegas sojourn on Tuesday, so I’ll be doing my usual last-minute bachelor-pad sweep up on Monday after work.

    Clean? 😆

Lots of “six words”! I have trouble coming up with one set. Kudos to you!

  6. charleenm May 11, 2013 at 12:56 #

Your poem indicates that you do not live in Florida. Here we have sunny days almost everyday!

  7. Kayleigh May 11, 2013 at 13:19 #

Hi, I’m new to the six word saturday — wow, you sure can come up with them, lol 🙂

  8. Marion Driessen May 11, 2013 at 13:28 #

Have so much fun with your guest! And stop cleaning!

    • The Laughing Housewife May 11, 2013 at 13:32 #

You are clearly not my husband. Based on your last comment, I wish you were 😉

      • Marion Driessen May 11, 2013 at 14:59 #

My partner is also of the cleaning kind. In his own house. Leave me in peace in mine! 😉
I’m sure you two have worked something out haha. Enjoy the weekend.

Hi T.Bud ~~ I don’t envy you one bit. My job when company comes is to do the floors, clean up my mess (really my play work–writing/blogging/reading stuff) and hers too on the breakfast table, put all my medication paraphanillia away, make the dog presentable, and help in general.

We have a guest from France coming for dinner Wednesday and eight other ‘French/U.S’ guests also. Nicole (fr) should have been heir to our toy poodle, Katrin, but the lady became ill when Katrin’s mama died so Mrs. Jim now has the duties for the dog’s life. Katrin will be 13 this July 19.

    Enjoy your weekend, Mrs. Bud.

Think how many more hours in the day we would have if we didn’t have to cook and clean – just more time for blogging and writing and reading

    • The Laughing Housewife May 11, 2013 at 15:34 #

I do the deathbed test: when I’m lying on my deathbed, am I more likely to say, ‘I wish I’d done more housework’ or, ‘I wish I’d done more writing’?

  12. gigihawaii May 11, 2013 at 14:39 #

Lol. Seems like I do housework only before I throw a dinner party.

  13. restlessjo May 11, 2013 at 14:45 #

Me neither, Tilly. if I ever find sunshine, I’m in it! 🙂

  14. laurieanichols May 11, 2013 at 14:59 #

Have fun with your nephew! I know what you mean about the sunny days, the sunlight pulls at me to go outside to work in the dirt instead of blogging and working on my book. The trials and tribulations of writing, hard isn’t it?;)

  15. wavensongz May 11, 2013 at 15:01 #

Short, Sweet, And To The Point!!!
New sentence, Hi and how have you been? Could not resist those six words. LOL

  16. Janie Jones May 11, 2013 at 15:01 #

    Happy visiting.

  17. SchmidleysScribbling May 11, 2013 at 15:20 #

If your roof leaked, when would you fix it? Dianne

  18. Terry May 11, 2013 at 15:41 #

Enjoy your visit, changing sheets and cleaning? bah hum bug!!!

  19. colonialist May 11, 2013 at 17:46 #

    Enjoy the visit.
I wonder what those appalling cream tea-ers did?
Maybe they should have had instead – Cream Tea Deposit Fifty Pounds Refundable After Good Behaviour …

  20. mlissabeth May 11, 2013 at 17:47 #

In my house, the rule is: if you can’t stand the mess, you can’t come over. Not the way I really want it, but the way it is with MS.

  21. kateshrewsday May 11, 2013 at 20:16 #

I love your sunny day policy. Perfect.

  22. Rorybore May 11, 2013 at 20:26 #

it’s raining here too. thus, my house is also clean.
at least until the child come back in from playing in the rain.
I may not have thought this through very well…..

  23. Lisaman May 11, 2013 at 20:44 #

  27. Jess May 12, 2013 at 19:53 #

Hope you have a fun week with your visitor 🙂

  28. adinparadise May 12, 2013 at 20:58 #

Have llots of fun. “No cream teas!” That’s appalling in itself. Those visitors must have been very badly behaved. Shame on them. 😯

  29. Kiwidutch May 24, 2013 at 09:15 #

Tilly, Do you only change the beds when visitors come? LOL

We’ve just said goodbye to a relative from England… he’s living in Australia in recent years but was back for his sister’s wedding (which Family Kiwidutch also attended) so he popped over to the Netherlands to stay with us and visit other relatives who coudn’t make it to the wedding. We’ve been busy but having fun 🙂

I welcome your comments but be warned: I'm menopausal and as likely to snarl as smile. Wine or Maltesers are an acceptable bribe; or a compliment about my youthful looks and cheery disposition will do in a pinch.
