A Frosty Reception

22 Sep

First, no summer;

now autumn’s disappeared.

I’m not complaining or anything, but why do we have frost in September when it’s supposed to be autumn?  To be fair, which I don’t feel like doing, we kind of had autumn in summer, so I suppose an early winter was inevitable.

Nature better get her act together or somebody’s going to get a kicking (there’s a reason I hold on to the Hub, and it’s none of that soppy love note business).

Yes, I’m still in a bad mood; I woke up at five, then watched Beckett pretend not to love Castle.  Of course I’m in a bad mood.

A sleep-deprived Tilly is not a pretty sight.  Somebody pass me the duvet; I think I hid the funny there.

I hope funny Tilly soon comes back! It’s chilly here, but no frost (yet!)

Cool here, but sunny this morning. Frost? Surely not – I’m not ready for winter yet!

  3. jmgoyder September 22, 2012 at 11:08 #

Here is it (supposedly) spring and it is freezing!

  4. Pseu September 22, 2012 at 11:16 #

My bedroom window looked like opaque glass this morning due to the drop in temperature. At least the sun is shining now. It was Bl**dy cold at 4 am. I had to put my electric blanket on to get warm. If you are kicking hubby out of bed send him over to me and he can warm my bones! 😉

It is only 85 degress here but you probably don’t want to hear about that. We do have a cold front coming in next week. The lows will get into the 70s. Ummmm, not sure that helps either. Ahhh, I got it. At least your air is crisp.

  7. soulbrush September 22, 2012 at 11:53 #

Sending you a grrrrr from here- and a brrrrr too.

I am happy for Autumn here. We had an extremely hot summer of drought. I do hope your mood improves. Feel better! 🙂

There’s supposed to be frost in Autumn. Today is the first day of Autumn so it’s okay. The frost is on the pumplin and all that. We have no frost but our morning lows are in the 60sF which is like heaven and the days are in the 80sF so I have no complaints. Well, there have still been a couple of 90 degree days so I can complain but at least there are no 100s.

Nanny nanny boo boo, Wisconsin has snow. Get some sleep Tilly, you are depriving your fans. We need something to cheer us up and Kate’s tits won’t do.

  14. sharechair September 22, 2012 at 14:00 #

    You’ll sleep better tonight!

Some parts of Ontario had frost. It is good for the pumpkins as well as the apples. I sleep better in a cool room with lots of body heat – my hubby hel0ps out with that.

I completely agree.I’m thinking seriously about emigrating to Barbados, Tilly. I need the vitamin B.

I’m sorry you’re unhappy, Tilly Bud. I hope the weather warms a little for you — we have a rainy, cold day here, but I expect we’ll have sun soon.

Tilly Cheer up this Monday will be the season premiere of Castle, hooray! It has started to seriously dip into the high 30’s here so yes early Autumn ick. I feel your pain, lounge about and try to get a better night’s sleep. We all love you, bad mood, funny mood any mood.

  20. gigihawaii September 22, 2012 at 15:45 #

It’s pleasant here in Hawaii at 4:45 am. No need for a/c or fan or heater. Perfect. Later in the day, it might get too humid, at which time I’ll turn on the a/c.

  21. mlissabeth September 22, 2012 at 15:55 #

No frost that I know of, but then, I didn’t wake up ’til about three hours after you. Hubbies are nice to help with that. 😉

  22. Karen S. September 22, 2012 at 16:26 #

I totally agree! It’s almost as if nature has put us in a time out! But why?!!!! I’ve been good, and kind and nice….and caring…..!!!!!

  23. lanceleuven September 22, 2012 at 17:01 #

‘To be fair, which I don’t feel like doing’ – I admire your honesty Tilly! 🙂

  25. restlessjo September 22, 2012 at 18:37 #

Not to gloat but it’s been glorious here today, Tilly. To be fair (which I am!) I couldn’t vouch for 5am, and I know there’s hell to pay in the coming days. Weather! You’ve got to love it??? (or fly south- wicked grin)

  26. Jim September 22, 2012 at 18:56 #

You are right, T. Bud. I had already peeking in on your weather ( http://www.abbeyroad.com/crossing , always on my ‘favorites bar’) and people are wearing sweaters, jackets, and long sleeves for sure. 🙂

  27. viveka September 22, 2012 at 19:19 #

It’s okay to be in a bad mood … we can’t love everyday – and nights like that .. we have live with. You stay under that duvet until … we be here waiting.

  28. slpmartin September 22, 2012 at 21:12 #

Oh…Tilly..I rise a 5 each day to prepare for my morning bike ride…it’s a fine time to reflect on the question “Why am I doing this?”

  29. terry1954 September 22, 2012 at 21:45 #

  30. robincoyle September 22, 2012 at 22:12 #

Mother Nature has been beating you Brits up this year! She paused a few times for the Olympics. I hear she is a sports fan.

  31. musicgal2012 September 22, 2012 at 23:29 #

There, there possum. It’s all good. Woman are supposed to get grumpy, it’s our natural right in life. As for the cold, we had a zinger (and I don’t mean KFC) down in OZ this time. Husbands never seen me this friendly since we were engaged. It’s all about the “Global Warming” that they keep telling us about. Ha, like as if !! We’ve never had so many frosts in a row. I think you lot are going to cop it this winter too. Gee I bet that put you in an even “better” mood. ….ha lol suck it in and keep it tight. he he xx When all else fails…slap something.

I welcome your comments but be warned: I'm menopausal and as likely to snarl as smile. Wine or Maltesers are an acceptable bribe; or a compliment about my youthful looks and cheery disposition will do in a pinch.
